Yes, you can have as many maps as you have inventory space. The restriction that others have mentioned incorrectly only applies to maps that have been deciphered - once the Timeworn Peisteskin Map gets taken out of your general inventory and moved into the Quest Item tab. I've never had more than two on me at the same time because I clear them out regularly with my FC, but it is fun to track down 7+ maps in a row. Most of us have at least one gathering class at 50.

If you actually read what those people said, no you cannot. The maps themselves are unique. Means you can only have one of each on your character, 1 of each per retainer(this includes their shop slots). But you CAN mail them to someone, so if you have a friend/family/alt account, you can do that. You CANNOT store them in a FC chest.
