glad to see I am not the only one who can see this, if anyone doubts this go run around aleport / quarymill / costa /revans and count players. The only ones you find are doing crafting leves or farming mats. It has become old world of warcraft ffiv style[citation needed]
I'd go on hours and hours grinding FATEs, to me they were fun. Doing Copperbell Mines for the 40th time wouldn't make me play any better than now.
Dungeons require a commitment of 40 or so minutes for each run, are always the same and before Stone Vigil, are kind of boring IMO. I don't understand why SE did this, when people in WoW complains daily about the dead world and the lobby game.
I have no idea if they played bad, but all you really had to do was follow the crowd, spam aoe, level. What i do know is though that there were some of the most obnoxious and rude people doing the fate grinding. Threats is you did the fate the way it said to do them, didn't use loopholes to grind more xp, I'm looking at you DD and similar fates. :P
I've done every fate fine that i've attempted after the change, with as little as one other person. This is the CT fates included. You just can't faceroll now, oh well.
What challenge are you talking about? All they did was ramp up the way it scales and if the prior group before you was larger, you have no hope to complete the fate. What are you testing by being there with 1 or 2 people slowly killing mobs other than your patience?
I can do that too ^_^
The challenge that mobs actually hurt you now, that you can actually fail. That you need to press more than 1 button and learn your rotation. That tanks have to tank, healers heal and DPS, you know, focus mobs.
Or you think standing where the FATE mobs spawn spamming 1 button is fun?
As I said as an example. we cleared a FATE easily after the Dragon FATE in Coerthas was killed. The fate spawned after and the Dragon was zerged. So, unless you try them with 1 button spammers then no, you don't "have no hope to complete the fate". Even if you do fail you still a good whack of xp. Also if it was as big an issue as you say there would be numerous posts complaining about it. Just checked FATEs section of the forums. Guess what? No real complaing, except from you.
SE fixed FATES and broke the whiners.
Just wait for the next spawn then and all will be back in balance. I was running fates early this morning on my lvl24 Arcanist and could solo just about everything with my tanking pet. So the scaling worked both ways.
--------------------------------------------------
The generation of random numbers is too important to be left to chance.
just wanted to say sweet name
The fact that little to no one does fates now can't be possibly intended, and if it is it's completely utterly stupid. There are plenty of people "complaining" as you call it, but have no use for people like you who wear rose tinted goggles and believe that everything is fine. Fate mobs could hurt you before, now with scaling it ramps up their damage to the point that if you are a dps class, you're probably screwed. Sure, you can tank the mobs and take little damage, but then you aren't going to get anywhere. Same with healers, except if the mob was scaled up so high due to the prior fate group you'll get blown up. Oh I know, let's form a party to kill the mobs...wait, then you can't queue up for DF at the same time which is going to relegate you to less xp/hr. Max level is the ultimate goal in this game, as the game opens up at 50. Extending that period by lowering the amount of xp you get from fates, rendering fates/fate groups dead, and not really doing much for a dps queue is stupid. It's going to lead to people leaving the game because you are forced to grind longer than what you previously were doing to get to level 50. Let's leave aside from people trolling you in DF not accepting it, or just plain going afk or w/e else in the dungeon. Either you have not done enough fates to form a properly subjective opinion, or you have such thick rose colored glasses you are blind to the ineptitude.
Also, if people such as yourself are content with what they deem as whiners leaving the game, then so be it. Enjoy the game what other people deem as broken or untested alone because there are other things to do anyway.

you sound confused here if you want to do this you can do it all you want it has been in game since launch it is called the Duty Finder
we are talking about fates being set to high so people no longer group for them turning this game into a bunch of people sitting in a city waiting on the duty finder.
Thus killing the feeling of this world being bigger then the main 3 cities.
If you are fine with duty finder go for it, No one here said anything about nerfing duty finder.
We want fates to go back to before 2.1 so people have a choice on how to level.
If they would let you replay lower level missions I would do that instead of both of these options myself but I do not see that coming ever.
I don't see Sapphic mentioning Duty Finder anywhere... and I looked, as I was somewhat confused.you sound confused here if you want to do this you can do it all you want it has been in game since launch it is called the Duty Finder

There's nothing wrong with people leveling off FATE's, nothing at all. What is wrong is FATE's ending in 10 seconds because they don't scale up high enough, and that everyone's goal in the FATE is just to tag everything for enough damage to get credit. Nobody cares what's going on in the FATE, because nobody needs to: just do enough to get credit.
This all strikes me as poor design, hence why they're trying to fix it. I'm not going to say that they've succeeded, but better then just leaving things as they were.

zephyr I agree with you
they could have fixed it but they did the reverse. on many threads people offered way to fix these such as.
1 Adding a boss to the fates mid high low level bosses so that all classes get the credit
2 increasing the npc spawns by the speed that they are killed(longer fates so more get credit)
3 leaving the turn in item fate npc up for 1 min after it ends so everyone can turn in items and get credit.
and many other great ideas but instead we got npcs at coil level hp and a empty world outside the cities now.
I do not see a reason they could not add the extra duty finder xp and do any of the things people suggested since beta.
