How? If only 3 people show up does a single boss type lose half its hp? what happens when a bunch more people show up? does it "Heal". If everyone leaves a fate does one with mass spawns despawn? What a mechanics The last fight determines the amount of HP and other things? LOL. How about adjusting the fight itself? If there are 2 dozen of people around the FATE area, make it harder. If there are only 3 peeps fighting, make it easier. But I bet this would cause "too much load on the server" which seems to be the knockout argument for a lot of things that would make sense.
This seems alot more complicated than just a server load issue.
I love you this made me smile thank you so muchWhat a mechanics The last fight determines the amount of HP and other things? LOL. How about adjusting the fight itself? Did someone really just compare FATE's to Coil? I mean really, exaggerating much?
This thread has so much hysteria in it, some of you guys are trying to suggest you can't do FATE's now but that's absurd. I'll admit you can't always turn up and get an insta invite now but I've had several FATE session since 2.1 and seen plenty of shouts.
As for Cancer, I did it with a party of 8 only a few days ago and it seemed about as hard as it ever was, if anything it was easier.
I love the new fate system, All the fates I've been doing have been nicely scaled. Well waiting on DF.
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
Oh look, typical "you want it easy" comments... why do people have to be so negative on these boards?
A FATE's difficulty will now be determined by the number of players who participated in the previous
Please read this again and tell me why you think it's a good change?
30 people finish a fate
fate respawns
10 people show up and get absolutely slaughtered....
where's the logic?
if anything, fates should scale on the spot and become harder if there's heaps of people doing it.. not scale it AFTER it's already been done, that's just silly.
I get what you're saying there. I think though, that if a FATE is done by a group of people then SE is assuming that that group of people are grinding FATE's (a wrong assumption I know) and that that same group will be BACK when it respawns. They saw that people were GRINDING FATE's so hence this really backwards system of scaling. Rarely will a group finish a FATE and then just up and go about their business. They generally grind FATE's in the area.
I agree though, it's silly.
¡Eso no sirve!
The problem is, they take so long to complete that is better to just move on to the next and come back later (or don't).
Having buffed the dungeon exp was enough to make FATEs last more, no need to do this horrible scaling.
Ah yeah you are right they are a bit tuned up though there seem to be less players doing them too, Harder a bit and less people lol
This change needed to happen. It was murder trying to do FATEs on arcanist from 1 to 50 b/c battles would end before I could start using my rotations.

I'm glad FATEs turned out like they are now. Now they add at least a little bit of danger to the world instead of making the FATEs act as XP piñatas only.
