PVP design and implementation has brought much shame to FFXIV

I agree that it's not perfect, but I also think that it's really fun. With any new game, hiccups are to be expected. I'd say give SE a chance to adjust things based on data and feedback, and see how it goes from there. Considering PvP is not their strong suit, it is understandable that there will have to be tweaks. People storm around all hyper critical and dooming SE, acting like the world is ending, but considering that they probably don't have a ton of experience with PvP systems, I think they did a pretty decent job. I'm looking forward to what they do with it in the future. I do, however, think PTR's and the like would definitely be a valuable tool to them for future endeavors.

I'm sorely disappointed with the PvP in this game, I see no reason why this has been delayed so long. There is nothing in PvP that makes me feel like it would have been different if they had just released it at launch.

We have an arena built from reused Limsa lominsa parts, gear which I've not even looked at and have managed fine without, and skills which I've yet to even buy more than one of.

When they said PvP would have different skills than PVE I was expecting skills to get full reworks, such as provoke locking an opponent on the tank (like in ffxi) but they did nothing of the sort. Now the PvP feels less like a tactical battle and more like a game of tag.

I'm really hoping there will be more to it eventually but as it is now PvP is abysmal..

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

That said with the amount of jump exploiters and botters teleporting all over the map now almost every match I play there is some kind of cheating/exploiting going on.

This is not something they should be proud of, 1 map only deathmatch, 5-20 minute wait when solo queueing for level 50 matches, no class balance, nothing being done to those being reported over and over again for cheating/exploiting.

If this was old school Japan there would definitely be a Seppuku needed to prevent anymore shame.
