Trading Gil for in-game time?

Hey guys,

Unfortunately due to some things that happened, I'm walking on eggshells trying to pay for bills/etc. My sub is going to be due soon and I was wondering if it is against the rules to trade gil for in-game time?

Kind of how some do it in WoW. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post!

Well... you can't do it through Square Enix because they don't have a system for it so that means what you would really be doing is selling gil for money to pay for your sub/gamecard/whatever. This would be considered RMT which is against the rules.

There's no way in-game you can do that on your own. If it's transaction with other players, it can be considered RMT.

Game time can only be bought with real world money.

Gil is in-game currency.

Hence exchanging gil for game time violates Terms of Service 2.2.

It is the same as RMT, as the only feasible manner to do this is to have the buyer buy you game time with real cash / crysta ... makes it the same as buying Gil for cash, ie RMT. How could this be construed as different to making money off Gil transfers ?

Sorry, it will most likely be considered RMT by SE and you and your buyers account may be subject to bans.

Just get a paypal account and see if any of your good friends in game are willing to send you a couple dollars. Then use paypal debit card to pay for FFXIV subscription.

I've done it before in the past for FFXI and got enough donations for 2 years of subs. (I had a lot of friends).

You got to get your priorities straight - Pay your sub and don't buy food. January is diet season anyway, so win/win
