Well, you can use either Wall or Ward depending on if the attack you're trying to mitigate is magic or physical right?
Some mechanics you can "dodge" this way, and some you can't. Just like float.![]()

So there does seem to be some general agreement here. Surecast in its current form is useless, and could stand to be changed to something that enables BLMs to cast on the move, so reduce the significant handicap we have on movement heavy fights.
So now the question becomes, how would we go about bringing SE's attention to this topic so something might actually happen, or even get some dev feedback?
Something that may be ridiculously obvious, yet possibly worth mentioning, is that you should try to use Sprint as much as possible as a BLM in AOE-dodge-intensive fights. I started using Sprint everytime Titan HM uses stomp after heart, and it's ridiculously easy to escape plumes while doing so. Also, the faster you can run, the faster you can start casting again.
Yea I use sprint for titan ex, probably more than i use swiftcast. But, regardless of sprint and useless surecast, I'd just really like to float. How cool would it be to see WoTL coming and just start floating in the air like a FF1 blackmage avoiding quake.

You're doing 42% of party damage in an extreme primal fight? What kind of horrible baddies are you playing with? And at what point do you wipe, heart phase? Every time?
When I first started playing the game I actually thought surecast allowed us to cast while moving since every time I would move while casting it interrupted the spell. As the spell is right now, I have never used it and it's even on my hot bar, that says to me there is a problem with the spell or it's lack of common usage in situations.
I feel like sure cast should allow us to move and cast for 6 seconds, and have a chance to have the next surecast have no recast time. Reusable every 60 seconds or 75 seconds.
Also SE doesn't have to make a change to the spell in pvp - just tweak the pve version. They should be doing that anyways instead of trying to balance pvp and pve as one entity.
What about making it a toggle you turn on/off, which allows you to cast while walking but triple/double MP cost (depending if with trait or not) or reducing spells potency by 35%/25% (without and with trait).
Certainly the Surecast need an improvement but, I don't really agree it has to come "free" and this version would help healers too, at a cost.
500 lmao, I have yet to see a Blm sustain 200 dps in this fight I'm sure it's possible just what my experience is showing.
