    display driver has stopped responding

    Hello,

I play FFXIV from home and at the office. My office PC seems to randomly lock up after "Display driver has stopped responding". The framerate seems fine and there doesn't appear to be any heat/hardware issues.

The machine is not the best for sure, but seems to do fine with other games.

    Xeon 2.67 GHZ
    GTX 285
    8 gigs ram

I've tried editing the timeout for the driver in the registry, updated drivers, turned off shadows and generally reduced all features (although it ran fine with them on).

Anyone have an idea of what I can do? I've ran some benchmarks on the card and it there are no issues and it's working fine with other games so it seems to be something with only FFXIV.

I think I have resolved this, in case anyone has the same issue. It appears that it was crashing every time the video card switched from 2d to 3d clocks. I unticked the framerate change when inactive ingame and set the clocks to 3d manually using afterburner.

So far no issues after a couple of hours where it was crashing within 15 minutes before.

It seems that there have not been any further posts about this concern being an ongoing issue. Because of this, we are considering it to be resolved. If this does continue to be a concern, please create another thread to further discuss resolutions or contact the Support Center at support.na.square-enix.com for assistance.
