How do we obtain Commendation achievement awards?

I recently received the achievement "Leaving a Good Impression II", which is supposed to award a "Princely Hatchling", but nothing was placed in my inventory, nor did it automatically go into my minions list. Does anyone know? Is there a vendor or something you have to spend these Commendations on?

It's kinda stupid how you can win one of these achievements and it gives no indication of what to do to get your reward. Every indication is that it give sit to you as soon as you achieve it. This is what MOST games do... otherwise they give you some indication at least where to go....

The tutorial when you first gained access to achievements explained that all item rewards from achievements had to be claimed from Jonas in Old Gridania. The game does tell you how to get them.
