"Increases HP recovery via curing magic by 30% for self"
They updated the description because of complaints. It's still pretty vague. Has anyone tested to see if curing magic to the tank, from the healer, is increased with this buff active?

It always has increased the tank's received heals
It is. That's what it does.
It certainly does increase curing magic from all sources.
The key word is the "curing magic". It does not increase things like bloodbath, inner beast, or lustrate.
This doesn't seen that vague at all.
These are not definitive answers, some are just patronizing speculated guesses. I'm looking for certainty, from someone who's actually tested it. Keep in mind that these descriptions are translations, not even first generation.
Guesses? I'm telling you from experience. PLD pops the skill, I heal for more. I notice it because it's a few hundred more then usual. Normally I heal for ~900-1k on Cure 1. When PLD pops it, it's usually 1.1-1.4k (can never remember exact numbers.) This is what people have been saying already, what more do you need?
Jesus christ, it's been tested so many times. People used to think it worked on our self heals... guess what, it doesn't. When I pop it on my WAR the differences are very noticeable. We told you that it affects others healing you. Otherwise it'd be f*cking useless. This isn't 'speculation' it's a proven fact.
This is pretty much the easiest thing to test. Just get a healer to heal you a bunch of times without Convalescence, and then again with Coalescence.
BTW, it won't work with %-based heals, like Lustrate, Thrill of Battle and Mercy Stroke kills. These are unaffected by Convalescence just like they're unaffected by healing nerfs like Twintania Infirmity.
Convalescence affects any Healing magic cast upon you.
As a PLD, this includes your own "Cure I"s as well as most healing spells cast on you by someone else (both players and NPCs)
It does NOT affect Bloodbath or Mercy Stroke, both of which return a constant amount of HP that cannot be buffed or debuffed.
Likewise, when cross-classed it does not affect WAR's Inner Beast/Storm's Path/Thrill of Battle.
There are conflicting reports about whether it affects "Second Wind". Personally, whenever I tested it on my Marauder back in the day, I never noticed any difference.
Treat it as another reliable Survivability Cooldown. As long as you don't get one-shot, it basically equates to slightly better damage mitigation than Rampart.
