    Weather

    Good Morning

I would love to see weather effects in town.

If it's raining all around ul'dah, then why isn't it raining inside town? If there is a reason it is not raining inside town (due to a magic spell or something) then please add lore to explain WHY it isn't raining.

Also When entering/leaving a tunnel I would love to see a smoother transition with weather effects. Right now if you enter a tunnel it is like passing through a invisible barrier to instantly go from raining to no rain. I should be able to stand inside a tunnel and see and hear it raining outside. Sometimes theres logs, etc you pass under in Gridania that you can be standing completely under and the rain is coming right through the log over head.

Also it would help if there was an intermediate weather animation, like going from no rain to 50% rain, then full rain.

Basically I'm looking for more realistic weather related to physics, rain shouldn't pass through solid objects.

Agree with all, but I'm sure its on the bottom of FF14's list of things to fix / implement.

agreed. don't have much to add. really hate the transition from going from open area to tunnel. I still see rain in the tunnel as i enter

I thought it was bs that a) it doesn't rain in open areas of Grid while its raining in the black shroud (maybe they have a magic would keeps the city dry), and b)in uldah when it rains if i'm in a tunnel, its still raining in that tunnel. WTF!

I understand the cities though, since weather effects take a lot out of some peoples computers, they kept them out of cities for lag issues. Its just unrealistic >.< not having it rain in Grid when its raining literally two secs outside of it. I'd like the see a cutscene where the twin adder has a protection spell or something on Grid.

Yeah they would need to fix that "raining in tunnels" thing, some places it's fine but other it rains in the tunnel.

If I might add as well, it would be nice too if the rain created puddles in the shroud/noscea, water going down the tunnels, mud in thanalan, etc. Things like that, so that when it stops raining, it takes a while before the ground is dry again. That's just probably never going to happen but it is supposed to be next-gen.

No one else has been in a situation where it's raining in their back yard but not their front yard? "Unrealistic" my arse!

Seriously, though, I kinda hope they go with the "A wizard did it!" approach. Mostly because I hate weather effects, though. Like, I wouldn't be horribly upset if they did add in weather effects to the cities, but it's not something I really want, either. . .

as soon as I'm able, I'll be turning off weather effects so while most people may want it, I don't think it is of high priority. Currently, the only way to even get rid of the weather sounds is to completely mute FFXIV using your speaker options...so yeah, I'm not really wanting weather (more lag) in towns (already laggy enough)

Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing

I understand where your coming from Dubont, the audio options definitely need configuring, I made a post about that too

Not really sure if they will ever make the weather effect able to toggle on/off tho, you might be out of luck there.
