I think clearer instructions on what each of the colors actually means might help, too.

Thanks for letting us know that they're looking into this for crafting, Rukkirii!
Ah yeah, because of server side responses I sometimes get this too. I already wait a second to take in that initial color and I start to craft and then it changes on me. It used to worry me more in the past since when this would happen it would mean that a server disconnect wasn't far behind.
I've been having a very tough time on Carpenter because of some bug... My workbench is a bright white... And it's only for Carpenter, as when I view other players who are on that class, I see the same graphic...
Hopefully the orb adjustment will help, as I think it might just be my computer that's causing the graphical glitch.

While they are at it they can also press our buttons, so all we need to do is start up the game and the game plays itself. Nice!
Oh wait ... if they made auto-launch possible we even don't have to start up the game ourselves. We can just sit on our chair and look at our screen and get to level 50, NIIIIICE.
I don't think that telling someone clearly what the game elements represent is the equivilant of playing the game for them. It stands to reason that a person is supposed to understand what an indicator indicates.

Betting 50 gil that they'll make the orbs bigger
Making it bigger won't make it better for weavers. That white on white shit makes things hard to tell if it's glowing rainbows or glowing white, especially when the borders of the glow are so damn small. Under bad lighting, it's hard to distinguish between yellow and white sometimes, though that's far less critical. My solution: lower the bloom effect on the orbs.
The problem i've got with the orb is from the "shine", i can't keep my eyes focus on the orb to long, it would be cool to have another option, an orb not shining/glowing, just some simple color.
an exemple:
Normal Orb color
Or
Translucide Orb
