Yeah...I figure 5-6 weeks between 1.18 and 1.19 should be enough time to get some tasty goodies in it. And then you can have the same to have a 1.2 mid-end of September.

Lol uh... If 1.19 follows 1.18's trend (and something tells me it will), timewise it might not be out until mid September or October. Don't forget summer doesn't officially end until like September 20th, which leaves them a longass time to release another patch that brings all the other things they mentioned.. This is FF14 we're talking about here >_>

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but my guess is that everything in the Dev comments and Letters is not coming in two patches. On my schedule you could get 1.2 by end of summer (September 21 - Essentially the one year anniversary)
Although you are right...we got 1.17a (it had Guild Tasks and some new Sidequests) on April 25 - that's a full 10 weeks between real patches![]()
time is about right. but i dont know i am gonna stay that long. lol
Dance like you mean it !
I think the speed is pretty decent considering how much stamina you needed to use certain basic attacks. Though I am in favor of Multi-hits like form previous FF games, like in FFIII, ex. 5-hit.. so on..
And i do know he stated about multi-hits, but im not sure whether its just going to be an animation or have it work like FFIII or FFXI "Double Attack"
its 10x's slower
Whose cares about physical, with the removal of stamina MAGIC SPAM!!!
dev post about the AA speed:
Basically, you guys need to understand that the implementation is happening one step at a time, so be patient. Keep in mind that they're still working under the burden of the animations set up to fit the old battle system, so every aspect of the system needs work.
This is only phase one of the overall plan. We're still in the preliminary phases.
There isn't really anything new that you already didn't read in Matsui's report: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...print?p=138995

Appearance of "slowness" is due to the character motions
Like Matsui said in his battle plan report, auto-attack will be implemented in stages.
1.18 is only the first step, which establishes auto-attack itself in a preliminary state.
After that, they will implement stuff like crowd control adjustments, action/skill balance changes. For stage two, auto-attack will be further refined by revising the algorithms/calculations and more clearly fleshing out the distinctions and characteristics of each weapon. After that is done, they plan to implement revisions in order to match the character animation more closely to the auto-attack timing.
The original animations were meant to be used with the original battle system, so that's why the intervals between attacks feels so slow. They plan to adjust the animations to make it feel faster.
