I am excited to see the implementation of auto-attack. It has been something I have been waiting for eagerly in order to pick up the game again as much as I wanted to. I'm glad that the stamina gauge is being nixed and the only time I want to see it again is if there is a sprint feature- but I digress.

Personally, I am going to assume that what Mr. Yoshida meant when he said that "Battle classes only will receive auto-attack" meant that crafters- Blacksmith's, Miners, Cooks, etc won't be getting it. (I hope they get something though because some of the leaves have us traveling a while) In any case, I'm ok with this arrangement because I don't see why crafters would need an auto-attack.

That being said, I can see how that statement can be misinterpreted therefore I ask that you allow me to postulate a misinterpretation in action.

-ahem-

"What I'm concerned about is that in the letter Mr. Yoshida stated that "Battle classes only will receive auto-attack.". I took that to mean that only the melee's will receive auto-attack, since the crafters don't really have an attack button to begin with. Now, assuming that I interpreted that statement correctly I have a question."

"Before I begin, a small disclaimer if you will. I understand that both of the mage classes need some major tweaking because right now both are far too alike in their uselessness, but let us assume that the classes have been tweaked to where we have roles that we all both know and love- Black Mage and White Mage. (Even if they aren't tweaked my arguments still stand, in my opinion.)"

"*There isn't enough MP to spam spells onto a mob."
"*The spells can be interrupted by a mob deciding to come and eat your face off."

"My question to you Mr. Yoshida and the dev team is, what are the mages going to do?"

Ok well, that's all I really have to say. Also, I think we're jumping the gun a bit, so to speak. Mr. Yoshida did say- very clearly- that the footage we saw was not the done deal but content under development. With the tweaking of the battle system they will have to account for abilities and weapon skills and the like. Hopefully, Mr. Yoshida will quickly release this information so that there isn't too much speculation and possible false hopes.
