Those are details we haven't been given yet. We will have to see when the actual system details are released, which im excited for.
Btw does anyone know when the job system was even planned for release? Was it in 1.18?
Yea right now it's only 1-1 class/job. However, I am hoping with the introduction of new jobs, maybe we will see a multiple jobs per class. But that's an unknown.

And that is truly the crux of it.
If only Gladiators can become Paladins ... yeah it's less imaginative and will cause some balance issues, but it's acceptable.
If Gladiators can only become Paladins ... now we have major gameplay issues, as well as insane balance issues.
(Please note the placement of the word "only" in the two statement above. It is significant.)

I have a feeling that "advanced" jobs will actually come into play much earlier in the game. Maybe you'll learn advanced skills as you level your main. So a Lv 20 GLD can be a lv 20 PLD. Maybe there is more than 1 specialization to learn per class. a GLC can spec. PLD or DRK
I do hope they take a cue from FF:Tactics and new jobs become unlocked as you level basic jobs to a certain point.
That's not in the plan currently. It would be nice later on down the road, but for now, they've said 1-to-1. . .I have a feeling that "advanced" jobs will actually come into play much earlier in the game. What I find interesting myself is to know how the lore will tie the class to the job, or if they will be completely separate. I mean, a Gladiator fighting in Colosseum becomes a holy knight of justice? Or a gambler becomes a far eastern monk? Since the job is related to the class, it's not justified to make the background completely separate like with different classes.
The power of echo is unlimited. Seriously though I'm curious about their lore as well. What I find interesting myself is to know how the lore will tie the class to the job, or if they will be completely separate. I think that not a good idea, because if you level a job to 50 to unlock a 50 will take away from learning the new job and doing low level instance and quest. That will kill some parts of the game. If thats how the dev teams gonna do it , the level cap should be raised. I think about it, most players have like 5 or 6 Rank 50 jobs already. Please think long and hard Dev Team before doing this.Plus starting a job already 50 will leave players with one less thing to do. New starting city with new job starting from level one =New players. Just saying^^
Uh, I hope hitting 50 class, quest, and so on will not unlock 50 job. It would make everyone's job excatly the same at the point. I would rather unlock job lvl 1 at rank 30 or so - That feels better and it still gives you some kind of goals. I absolutely dont like the whole idea about :
50 lvl unlocks 50 job instantly. No, please. :/
I think Jobs will start at Level 30 at the latest as we are getting a Level 30 Dungeon so you would think you would have access to them by then. I personally think you will get access to them before even that so you can get a feeling for them before the dungeon maybe Level 20-25.
*EDIT*
Unless of course the R30 Dungeon IS how you unlock the Job. So completing it on a certain class will unlock the Job for that Class maybe.
*EDIT 2*
Maybe the Dungeon is where you get your first bit of AF gear for your Job.
