Australian players who moved to JP servers from NA Servers

I was just wondering, how did the move go for you guys? Ping wise.

I live in WA, have no intention of moving to JP server but I'm just curious. I expect the ping to be around 200+, and a little bit less with VPN service.

I worked too hard to build my current end game group so I'm sticking to dear NA server.

I'm in Western Australia too and I've been on a JP server since 1.0, so I guess I don't know any better. I do get occasional rubber-banding and lag at times, usually during Japanese time peak periods (about 5pm - 1am our time, and especially on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays). I've never tested my ping from Ridill though so I have no idea how well it matches to a NA server. I just stuck with Ridill due to sentimental reasons.

For reference I'm on TPG going with 450 ping that comes down to 310-320 with VPN.

You can always make a test character on your destination world and see how things are for yourself. It might be better, it might be worse...but this method also lets you see what ls/fc exist and how the ppl on that particular world interact with each other.

I play on an NA Server from Victoria, to which i ping 269. Which is significantly better than the 500+ i get in games like TERA.
I use Exetel, on a 100/40 mbps Fiber connection. Hurray for NBN!

I'm from NSW and with WTFast I get 150ms ping on Masamune. Been on Gysahl/Masamune from 1.0 start.

Im from nsw and i have no intention of going to Japan server, it would be like starting over, and idk if language problem could be an issue, also it does't seem like a big deal, unless i was living there. Anyway i use battleping which works fine imo and also used lowerping which worked well as well. Cant tell the exact ping though.
