New character or switch jobs at level 33?

I leveled up the Marauder and Gladiator jobs to 33 and 22 respectively on this character only to find out I really don't enjoy tanking much.

I was wondering it it would be best to start a new character or just pick up a different class? I don't really plan on using the other two classes unless there's an update that adds new jobs.

Eh. Up to you really. You would have all the main scenario quests as a resource for exp again on a new character. But with the changes to dungeons and battle leves. That probably doesn't change much. The slog to 15 can be annoying but it doesn't take all that long.

Just switch jobs. You may find someday that you want those classes for one reason or another. There's also plenty of other things you may have done on your character that you want to keep.

with marauder at level 33, you can go pick up the dragoon class by leveling lancer to 30, or you can try out basically any other class/job out there; you get bonus experience based on the difference in level between your current class and your highest class, however, you can't repeat any quests you've done.

Yes just switch class. You can have all classes on one character but at least now if you switch you will already have cross class skills

It's true, switching classes is the better thing to do but as always it's up to you, I know people like to make alts but this game is designed around leveling multiple classes on one character. Say you want to play another job and find out in order to unlock it you got to lvl up mar to 15. Or the class you want learns a cross class ability that pretty high at like lvl 30+. Again it's up to you but I would suggest keeping everything you've done in case you need to do it again later anyway

I'd stick to your current character. I got to 34 Paladin before I realised I sucked at tanking, so I switched to Archer. I got to 42 with Bard/Archer just running dungeons. It was a lot more fun the second time around, when I couldn't single-handedly destroy my party.

You only really need an alt if you want a different race/gender.

Both MNK and DRG can use skills from MRD so you should keep it IMO.

Don't forget anything you level will get +50% XP until they catch up.
