Not done CT yet... Read about, watched movies.. advice?

I tend to be a tad intimidated regarding new dungeons. Just my nature.. I like to study, do it with people I know, where a lil trial and error ain't gonna get me too much grief.

I have a 73 War, a 72 Whm and a 66 Mnk, and am curious.. would I be better off to go DD for my first trip despite being my lowest rank? Or just quit worrying about it, cue up, and hope for the best.

Just hate being the newb :P

I'd say go DD your first time and prepare for people being jerks, blaming others, and trolling. I don't know why but CT for me always ends up with more jerks and trolls then other dungeons. Also doesn't hurt to get a premade group to queue with.

Don't worry though, it's not hard. Good luck and have fun!

Be prepared to witness just how hard it is for people to stand on a button. It's not a hard raid, people tend to make it where you want to pull out your teeth and pour acid in the fresh holes and that would be less painful.

Go as healer, you can semi-afk on most fights and still clear it no problem. All the fights can be healed with 3 healers, no need for 6. Faster queue times too. Nothing to be intimidated about in CT, just sit back, watch, and learn. Every fight is plainly obvious the first, if not second time around.

Just pick whatever you would be most comfortable with. It isn't very demanding as a healer and you can hide in the chaos as a tank without causing a wipe, seeing as the encounters rarely gives all 6 of them work to do. Prepare for funky queues as DPS, though. I've only done Crystal Tower 11 times (I just roll on whatever Bard piece drops first as well ) and I've found that most groups are actually fairly pleasant, though some may need coaxing to do the fights properly (though even then, wipes are rare in my experience). Only unpleasant one I had so far was a tank and healer duo whining at each other in the alliance chat for being equally bad (he can't keep aggro/he can't keep me alive!)... and that's what, 2 out of 253 potential players? I'll take those odds.

Semi afk? IF you can semi afk as a healer in CT then you shouldn't be in there...BC is that way >>>>>>>>>>>>>

Tank is actually the easiest, First boss you only have to pull adds ( and you only need two tanks to do it on the 5, so you can AFK if you want) , second boss is too easy, Tank on Behemoth = trigger tower, nothing else to do, Last boss only needs one tank.
