    An unexpected error has occured. Exiting FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. (2) (17)

    I was loading into a new area when my internet connection was interrupted. When the connection came back on I was unable to log in to the character that was loading into a new area, but my other characters are still playable.

    Can't really find any solutions online, but there have been some other cases.

    Anyone know what to do?

    If it doesn't get fixed by itself, try renaming (so you can rename it back) the folder relative to your character in Document > My Games > FFXIV folder and see if it fixes the issue.
    If it doesn't work you can only open a ticket.

    It seems that there have not been any further posts about this concern being an ongoing issue. Because of this, we are considering it to be resolved.
