Holiday barding disappeared

I completed the Winter event and purchased the holiday chocobo barding. I used the item and the barding did not appear in my chocobo's barding inventory. To ensure I did not accidentally delete the item, I purchased the barding again and the game informs me that I have already used this item, but the barding is not accessible to me.
