    PS3 Dragoon Slowing down?

So I hit T1 last night for the first time. The first node boss kicked my butt for 4 tries. My question is how many attacks do you try to land before you start to dodge. The time we downed it I was able to land HT-> TT then I have to dodge the try and get back to miss the VT on the combo. I'm trying to figure out is it my PS3 lag or it the fight that mechanic based?

The second you see the AoE, get away. That's all you can do really.

Or, you can ask to be on adds duty; a little less stress in T1.

But...if you can't dodge ADS's AoEs in T1, you're not going to have fun in T2 at all.

You should start to get into a groove and be able to anticipate AOE stuff and start moving ahead of time, on most fights. Unfortunately, it sometimes involves a decent amount of deaths to get into that groove XD

It ain't PS3 lag. I like to use a gap closer to start. Either Dragonfire or a Powersurged Spineshatter and w/ the 2.1 changes you can slide right over and apply heavy thrust. After Phelbotomize I'm already anticipating that first red circle, but I usually can start the Chaos Thrust combo before I need to move. Don't let it get you down, the curve for melee in coil is pretty steep at first. You'll figure it out.

    stand at max range

also, dodging aoe is more important than doing dps. so it shouldnt even be a question of...how many moves do i get in before moving out of the red. if its red, you should have already moved.

It is a tough transition, and certainly a challenging one for melee. Standing at max range makes a huge difference. remember that once youve started an animation you can start moving and still hit, also once the bosses aoe circle disappears you can move back in to attack. As for dealing with adds, if piercing laser has been used recently I will close the gap with a jump.

ADS is a really good test of your ability to maintain your rotation and dps while being interrupted. Something that you will be doing for all turns from here on out. If your having trouble with the rotation/dodging I would recommend running titan a lot! Until you are comfortable moving out of plumes and picking up where you left off.

Other people actually deal with the adds? That's new to me.
