I think it would be a fun gimmick, but it would consume a lot of resources for to have all of the scenery as well as the interactivity. Taking a train up to Ala Mhigo? That'd be fun. Have a CS play for the travel, then have you land at the other end (like the airships). But I doubt there'd be a train with interactivity, unless, like CYoung 187 said, the Ghost Train made an appearance. Eorzea just seems like way too small of a world to have a train on a realistic schedule that was also interactive on-board.
I was in a train one time that stretched from outside your house, all the way into your moms bedroom.
Jk, sorry I couldn't help myself but I do think this is a great idea, especially if they do something like a doom train, that would be awesome.
It's true, the world is kind of small for an hour long train ride. I mean, I could go from Isles of Umbra to the Sylphlands on chocobo in less than an hour.
That is the problem with the world. If you can travel that fast on a chocobo, that would tell you this world doesn't have much to offer.
Here I thought this would be a thread about bringing back the monster training of ye olde MMOs. I am disappoint.
what a fantastic idea, i completly love it, more trains to the people,,, i love trains... just have to add it in^^ please bring us trains

If trains were gonna be exactly how airships and boats were handled with just cutscenes... then there is no point to adding trains.
I remember both airships and and boats were supposed to have real time travel that you could skip if you wanted to incase your party wanted to.
