The worst I have seen was people taking atomos as some sort of dps competition. Not the friendly kind though.

One of the groups would just refuse to stand on platform when the other group is dpsing faster.

i had definitely found out watching a youtube video or two as guides on tanking for dungeons for the first time really help when i am bran new to a dungeon. It at least greatly reduce the derps that can happen as a newer player to the dungeon

Of course the biggest lesson is to learning to listen and following orders...
but most noobs fail at that too.

Elitist jerks just want to breeze through everything, you're probably one of those people that yells at first timers to skip cutscenes when you low level duty roulette.

Edit: Most enjoyable run I've had, I was the only person in my Alliance who had done it before. I let the other Alliances know, and they were accepting and patient enough to give me 3 minutes before each fight to explain the mechanics to the Alliance. We wiped ONCE on Acheron, and it was due to one of the OTHER alliances not making it to their panel in time.
Aside from that it was a breeze, and felt very rewarding to see newcomers succeed with ease.

The problem is two different kinds of jerks working in concert:

1: The jerks who HATE newbies and treat them like dirt.
2: The jerks who fly off the handle when a newbie makes a mistake, because said newbie didn't ADMIT they were new because of the threat of Jerk#1.

I just have a policy of roughly explaining the fights even if everyone swears they've done it before. Makes things go so much easier because you're bringing any stealth newbs up to speed too.

You're may just be prodding folks now to get a reaction out of them.

If you want your Crystal Tower drop, find twenty three other people on your server who share your same attitude. There's at least three others that liked your opening post, so you found some right there. Like someone else said, organize three parties with your iLevel requirements of 80+, pick another language so you don't get stragglers, then queue simultaneously. It's so easy. And you don't have to deal with any anyone else except all of you running Crystal Tower over and over and over trying to get your own week drop negatively impacting other people's enjoyment with your bad attitude.

doing ct just as you get to ilvl 50 is fine, haven't had a problem with any of the tanks, dps or healers doing that as long as they do the bosses as intended

one sad thing about this game.. relic=/= experience.. not one bit. I had a relic +1/af+1 pld in garuda extreme that had no idea how voke worked, and had no idea how to do swaps and no idea how to survive double wheel. We eventually had to switch so i was MT, and then when the sisters popped, he kept accidentally voking garuda when the sisters pop.

The only gear in the game that demonstrates experience is allagan pieces. This isnt to say that there arent people without allagan that are good players, just that youre more likely to see people in allagan perform well than without.

Ran a CT last night after clearing T4.

Most of our static was A (some of us were on alt classes and/or spiritbonding), B was a group of people that ran it before (and were way overgeared), C was new.

We go through, explaining all the fights as best we could (B kept pulling things early) and we get to the last boss with (I think) no wipes (if there was a wipe, it was just one, but I don't think there were any)

Guess who forgot about the platform on the boss? Group B...

Yeah, we started to nag on B for being worse than the newbie group...no more wipes after that, but the B tanks kept forgetting to run to the platform and eating Flares...and they decided to troll the group a bit with some tank-swapping the boss into the melee >.<
