Sounds like the real 'noob' here is the one that needs to overgear by like 20 ilvls to clear content...

Technically 15 ilvls. CT is ilvl 55 req, DL is ilvl 70.

The OP's attitude is everything that is wrong with CT.

I ran CT with my husbands lvl55 PLD the first night it came out. Everyone was nice, no one knew what to do, and crazy, we had fun! If we had maybe 5 more minutes left at the end we would have beaten the final boss on our first attempt, its not exactly hard, but it CAN be fun, only the trolls in this game won't allow for that.

Flash forward one week and its nothing but trolling, flaming, no one talks until AFTER something goes wrong and only to call people retards or whatever insult they prefer, everyone rushes in, etc.

It's so bad I took some FC friends on their first run and they pretty much said they never want to run it again. Not because its hard, but because of people like the OP. People are getting vote kicked for ignoring the chat channel because the hating is so bad.

I have to wonder why they even play games. If I wanted to watch this game on youtube, I would not have purchased it. It I wanted to do everything in the event with overpowered gear, where is the challenge? Did all of these people play with Game Genies and cheats before XIV?

These attitudes are what makes Duty Finder unbearable.

This happens not only in CT, but in every single piece of content in this game. Back in launch week when we tried the hard mode primals? Same. Two weeks later if you miss a stun as PLD you're a noob. "First time in Garuda" and nobody says a word until you are in the wrong position, then they ask, "you don't know where to go?"

One month after launch, all BC runs require everyone to read up on strategy.

Fast forward to 2.1. The day after patch, people were already asking for experienced party members.

I think encounter design is the key source of these attitudes. The encounters in this game are static, there are no dynamic factors to the fights. So the more we do them, the more of a chore they become, and we want to just get them over and done with, so we get the fat shinys quicker. That means less tolerance for mistakes, less tolerance for anything that may deviate from our "known success strategy". It also means not wanting to accommodate people with lower iLvs.

But I guess that's just what a game that caters to the masses will end up with. There's no avoiding it, because those kind of attitudes get rewarded in a game (you get your goal quicker and more efficiently), and the attitude itself becomes contagious.

I was watching a stream the other day, of a player that had a bunch of coil gear, making fun of players wanting to do CT and not having Relic +1. O_o

Oh geeze...CT is the place to SB now. Just hunting for my Royal Robes this week I've converted at least 15 items (couple QT3s, SA3s, SM3s, Vit3s, even a PIE4 as the valuable ones) and I probably have a lot more CT to do (the Robe just won't drop, and its looking like I may be joined by another healer that's looking for the robe...)

Considering a very large amount of people got most of the relic chain done via PAYING for it, no, Hanabira is right. There's a reason Yoshi buffed Allagan weapons.
