Try doing focus target and move out of it before cast time finishes? I think that's just how the mechanics work. You seemed to still be there when his cast finished from what I've seen. I probably know cause I've finished them..

If you move early on Titan Extreme mode weights you're going to toast your whole group because people seem to love to stack to avoid weights for the encounter. You have to wait until the cast starts to start moving.
