The content is unplayable for me at the moment. Watch the video. You don't need "skill" to beat Titan extreme. You need a connection that FFXIV servers like and play friendly with.
I just beat Titan tonight on my 68th try, don't blame lag for the fact your skills are lacking also jumping doesn't help you do anything but look like a fool when you die to Landslide or plums. I say do the fight, learn the rotations, and most of all learn to play the game, I bet you Fate grind your way to 50 did the group dungeons only once to speed through the story, got to Hardmode Primals and they did the Harlem shake all over your ass and now you're blaming the servers for it LOL!!!!
Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn is a great game and isn't failing, however the Company Square-Enix IS in fact failing "Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn" with it's lack of service and utter moronic restrictions and actions.
Now, I have a lot of sympathy for those with the problem OP raises. I suffered from it myself. I managed to beat Titan before tweaking my own settings by purely knowing his rotations and moving before plumes appeared. No amount of skill could compensate for the crippling lag in that fight.
After tweaking my settings, I'm fine. I don't get hit by avoidable stuff unless I wasn't even expecting it to appear (say, standing in the wrong place for Ultima Ex). Should I have to tweak those settings? No. Have I needed to do this for any other online game? No. Would I pay extra for tunneling/VPN? Not a chance in hell, I'd pick another game first.
However, those tweaks did work for me, and I can play this game.
I hate to break it for you, but not everybody lives in Canada and the US, where FFXIV's lag problems range from nonexistent to mildly annoying and are easily fixed using WTFast or any other VPN software.
Many of users across Altantic (you know, where some of playerbase happen to reside) have it bad enough on both "NA/EU" and "JP" server groups. Because, hey, it's totally cool to play a game where every other boss fight boils down to "dodge stuff FAST" when you have to deal with godawful network code and lack of servers NOT somewhere halfway across the world.
You do realize that means it's not a problem with the game itself but the hops particular ISPs are taking to reach the servers..right? SE stated VPN software isn't against ToS which means it's not interacting with the game coding at all - If a program isn't directly interacting with the game's code or memory, doesn't that mean it's not particularly the net code since it's not actually fixing anything with the game itself?
I will be sure to remind the EU players in my FC that they're not clearing primals and only imagined their victories. It is annoying since people even in the US are having problems, but the clear rate is fairly high on our server from what I'm seeing.
As a matter of fact..the only time I ever seen someone blame lag recently was when they utterly failed at Ultima Hard. On Mondays I get a ton of lag in Coil and the like but later in the week that lag clears up, so the servers aren't perfect but the game is still very much playable to a large portion of their playerbase

From what I see is: You started twice a cast after his AoE. That way you are locked in a small cast delay on the server, it updates your position and then you have full wait time + lag untill it recognize that you are "beginning" to run! Try to wait untill your enemy moves before you start any cast. Thats not some sort of Netcode, but one of those things that adds delay, which makes the fight with higer lag pure frustration. Indeed SE have not done much yet to solve this problem, but let them do it step by step! To have now position updates each 0.1s instead of 0.3s helps a lot (also the other changes), but its not the only problem we had with "delay-stuck" previously in 2.0
This has yet to be seen. If enough people continue to pay, then they'll be right.
I understand that in some areas, with some ISP's, on some systems, for some people, the game can be practically unplayable. But unless SE has proof that those some's justify the likely large system overhaul to change what's needed to fix it for those people, nothing's going to change.
And, unfortunately for those in the situation, ARR will be just fine this way.
