I hope the developers read this. they have a huge gap in dps use between brd vs drg or mnk. they totally made bard the king of everything in final fantasy11. now they repeat the same habit. either nerf bards and make them equal to monks and dragoons or make monks and dragoons just as good any bard in any situation. seems that the developers hate melee dps and this trend needs to change also. how about making new end game content that makes easier being melee as opposed to ranged. all I ask is balance here. bards are king because SE allowed there favoritism towards bards to run wild yet again.

If you're a DRG complaining about spots in a party, you should be complaining about MNKs, not BRDs. Nobody with brains would take any more than 1 BRD for current content anymore due to the recent changes. Parties will generally also bring 1 melee DPS for LB. In that case, MNKs bring far more utility to the group than a DRG can ever bring thanks to them being able to silence and mantra.

If the recent BRD nerfs along with DRG boosts still has people choosing to stack BRD over picking another melee, they are gimping themselves period.

Now if you were to complain about MNKs being overly useful compared to DRG, then I agree but the way you worded your initial post, you clearly have a deeply ingrained hate against BRDs for whatever reason baffles me when your real and only competition for spots in a group is a MNK.

Also, if you wish to bring MNKs and DRGs up to the level of utility a BRD currently has on a group, you'd need to bring BRDs DPS up to the level of MNKs and DRGs. You don't simply get something without losing anything.

Bards were designed to be useful, not strong. Your argument should be DRG vs. MNK as BRD have lowered damage while being useful, opposed to having high damage and no other use other than DPS (and stun when no one wants you to...). If I had to choose between a MNK or a DRG I'd pick MNK unless I already had one.

However, it sounds like you're just annoyed at the fact no one wants melee in speed runs as they only want BLM and BRD. I can't think of any other end-game instance that anyone would take 2 BRD's over 1 BRD and 1 DRG anymore. If that's the case, level up a PLD. I picked BLM when I started and when I found out they were in high-demand I was happy, only to figure out it's only for speedruns. Stacking multiple classes is kind of pointless at this stage.

Also, I don't understand why so many people find Melee hard... only time it should be difficult is if you have a terrible tank.

I'm sorry but I haven't been to any content to where a BRD out DDs me. I haven't been to the new extreme fight yet,but I hear its pretty rough on melee. Other than that nada.

It was only a matter of time since new nerf BRD cry threads will appear. Shouldn't they rather just delete our job or what? How many nerfs do you want? Enough with this..
