How long before you met your first nasty user?

I actually got AV last night in roulette. It was the first time I got anything higher than Halitali in roulette. I was braced for the worst when the message came up that there was a first timer, because I was expecting someone to get abusive about it.

Never happened. Turned out the new guy was a WHM who knew his stuff. The tank and BLM were from the same FC, and turned out to be from my server. We went thru very easily, no deaths and no drama. Got 2 new people on my friends list at the end.

Strange thing with dungeons like AV and Brayflox: with even one bad person they can be a nightmare. But if you're lucky enough to have 4 good people who are pleasant and do their jobs, they're actually quite painless. I've had both experiences.

My worst experience was in Brayflox, and it saddens me to say it was a FC mate who was the problem. The tank was in the FC and lagging in the final fight, and another FC mate was the healer. The FC tank needed the win. Both me and the healer already had it.

After a couple wipes, our healer ranted and rage quit. Which was quite embarrassing for me and the other member of our FC. We were forced to go back the next day with another FC member as healer and got the win with one try with no deaths.

That healer quit the FC a couple weeks later. Since then I've seen that healer around the server. Every time I see him he's got a different FC it seems. Last time I saw him he had none.

Yeah. I was actually surprised because I generally don't play online multiplayer games. I didn't really think they got that cartoonishly mad and arrogant. I was more struck with comical awe than anything else. I mean, you know people make fun of that behavior all the time, why would you embrace it to the exact stereotype?

You should abuse new people in parties more, maybe you'll get banned one day and all those 50s and the time you put into them will go byebye forever. Guess what? Not cussing people out and telling them to go kill themselves over a game doesn't get your account terminated :P

your opinion is speculate, i never harass players but yoship has cleared told us to be responsible for your own game knowledge and expecting carries through is an abash to the endgame. period.

FFXI & 1.0 players on 'new' servers pointing out everyone's errors and mistakes on day 1, claiming their playtime on XI/1.0 made them superior players by default.

And I thought the problem was the, 'WoW kiddies' we hear so much about.

I met my first nasty player when I transferred servers. I played beta, and on Goblin. Met a lot of really nice helpful people. Then I moved to an EU server, and it is normal to see rude comments toward people in groups. Players stepping over bodies instead of raising them, when there is no good reason not to. Also, I've helped people who were obviously in trouble by healing them, then of course I get all their mobs. Then they run off and leave me to deal with them. This happens a lot. I've raised people in the middle of a battle (FATE), then when it is over, they run off and leave me. Even when they have a raise skill. Today in several runs, we were trying to help new people in HM dungeons, and 3 of 4 healers were very rude and made terrible comments when anyone made the slightest mistake. Rudeness is not going to help make better players... I did come here with a nice group of friends so I try to avoid grouping with anyone outside the FC.

I was running CM with a couple of friends... and while the person in question wasn't rude towards me, he was being rude towards my friend. My friend handled everything graciously, by saying things back to the rude person like, "I like you. Let's be friends." It was actually really funny to watch, but also probably the best way I have seen rudeness handled. The guy eventually stopped.

Day one I met a jerk screaming at people for being so stupid that they couldn't even do the first dungeon in the game... ON THE FIRST DAY WHEN NO ONE KNEW HOW TO PLAY YET!!!

You know, before I transferred servers, my blacklist was full of RMT spammers. After I switched servers to join RL friends and had the blacklist autowiped, it's now full again... but this time there isn't a SINGLE RMT on it. It's full of douchebags and assholes instead. I've never seen so many players with so little respect for other people in over ten years of MMO gaming.
