After just replying to another thread here and saying the same thing there, I thought it might be interesting/fun for people to suggest some balanced traits which could be added to gearsets to make end-game gearing a little more interesting.

In FFXI (at least in the early few years when I played) it was worth waiting months for a single piece of gear because it had such a unique effect, e.g. Let's say there was a headpiece that increase Divine Seal's Healing Potency bonus to 40%, or a pair of pants that reduced the cooldown on Aetherflow by 5seconds.

In some other MMOs I've played, getting a whole set of gear was incentivized through 'set' bonuses. Generally the closer you were to a full set of one set of gear, the more powerful the effects were, but combining set bonuses from different sets of gear was also interesting. This would generally play out as something like ..

If you're wearing 2pc Allagan Healing: X Trait, e.g. Each party member healed by Medica/Succor has a 10% chance to cause your next Stoneskin/Adlo to be instant-cast, (CD:30s)

If you're wearing 4/5pc Allagan Healing: You get some other trait.

If you're wearing Myth 2pc/5pc: You get some other Job-specific trait.

TL;DR - If it's going to take a month to get a drop, at least make that drop more interesting than a 2% increase to my HPS as a function of various stat gains, that kinda stuff is what I expect to see during the grind from Lv.1-50, not at endgame.
