Q: will individual housing prices be based off server Gil amount like the FC housing?

I am curious if SE will base the individual housing prices off how much Gil is on a server, player, FC vault, retainers etc, like they did for the FC houses.

This could be a problem for the players if this happens because, as we all know, not many people are spending their Gil so they can help save for the FC houses and be ready for personal houses when they release. If everyone has enormous amounts of Gil mountains and SE decides to do their math...we end up paying out our ears?

I really hope not. I can understand if the want to put a gil sink for huge expensive houses. But a basic simple house should not cost anyone their life savings.

By the time personal housing comes out my FC probably won't even have enough for a medium FC house yet. If personal housing costs anything even remotely close to FC housing, well, they could just as well not implement it because barely anyone will experience it.

Yeah all of you have legitimate concerns. I fear the worst, but hope for the best.

If personal housing is cutomizable mog house or the size of one I'm going to be really upset too.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that personal housing will be much cheaper.

Also I'm not going to invest in personal housing cause they offer no real features or currently have none officially stated to date. Storage and the idea of somewhere to hang out is nice but I'm truly interested in chocobo's, gardening and the crafter stations currently offered only by FC housing in the following patches.

It's going to be a customizable inn room, no doubt about it. I don't see them using the same plots layout for FC as they do for "personal housing", and I highly doubt they will make anything new other than a fancy instance entrance for your personal inn room.

They don't need to use the same size plots as the FC housing - they can make different size plots pretty easy since the foundation from the FC plots has been made. They could use the same plot sizes though since there will be gardening and chocobo stuff outside the house. The actual houses though should have the smallest house the size of an Inn sure, but the biggest needs to be considerably bigger then an inn but smaller than the FC mansion. If they want to give us the FC mansion size though I will take that!

It doesn't have to be an inn for the prices to be cheap. The prices don't really need to be cheap, but they need to be affordable.

I feel like if they were just giving us houses the size of an inn it would have made it into 2.1 and not 6 months later. I hope they have enough servers or whatever though so they don't jack the prices up to keep people from buying a house until they can make more servers.

I just hope SE doesn't let us down with this personal housing and the sizes of houses and land we can buy. We need to be shocked and awed (in a good way) after the pricing fiasco and limitations of the FC house servers.

I love the idea of walking through a housing town/city and I can't wait for the FC districts to be swarming with life. It won't happen any time soon though even with the price lowering I don't think...ESP if the personal housing is costly.
