Thread: What's causing FiOS users to get so much lag since 2.1?

Just thought I would add, that I to am having problems. Northern VA area, using FIOS.

In another thread I saw people pointing to the issue starting after the data center ISP maintenance posted here:

FIOS user in MA. Also having the lag issues mentioned here. It is beyond frustrating.

FiOs user in CA. Huge issue for me as well.

Girlfriend is here in NJ with the same issue. I'm on comcast a few miles away and no problem.

People in my FC have started paying for a certain program to fix their ping thanks to this new error. It works, but seriously, must we do this? Why am I paying a different company to fix a problem that never needed to exist all of a sudden? Please say something, SE.

When posting tracerts it might be more useful to use a program called WinMTR. it will ping each hop in the route until you stop it. (I usually do 500 times minimum) which will show irregularities much better than a triple ping tracert.

pathping does that. just replace tracert with pathping: pathping x.x.x.x
it reports lost packets from source to node and between nodes.

Such a relief that I'm not the only one ;-;

But everyone in my FC runs something different, so I'm the only one lagging. Not to mention in the WHM for our coil... The lag gets tanks killed in T4 sometimes v

Same here....fios high speed (100 down 50 up I think), and the bad rubber banding lag since 2.1.....please fix SE!

Why are you asking se to fix? We all have come to the conclusion that the ips that use level 3's router is where the issue is stemming from. Did you even read the comments b4 you posted?
