Hi guys,
I had to come say something about this because, well, I hate this dungeon with a passion.
Why do I hate it?
Well, there's a lot of reasons. It's a zergfest for one. The dungeon is not hard. The only thing that makes it hard is the apparent elitest's we have running it. I'm not even sure why anyone would go into level 60 content meant for casual play and act like they are better than everyone else. I can only assume they can't run coil because no one on their server actually likes them so they take it out on casual players in CT. I'm not sure, but I have two characters almost in full i90 and let me tell you, it is really unbecoming of some of you to act like such children. This is casual, level60 content guys. It is a joke when you tell a new player to get on your level.
No one wants to be on your level. I am sick of reading it, to be honest, because I want others to play this game with me. So shut up, or just don't run CT if your version of giving someone pointers is giving them graphic instructions on how to suck your nether regions.
The freaking loot lock out. I HATE IT. I can't stand going in this place and seeing loot just go to WASTE. It drives me batty, to say the least. For one, tell me why anyone should bother staying in the dungeon after they win loot? There is no reason. The dungeon is incredibly dull to go through, it takes a lot of time, and the myth/philo reward is not worth it to stay, and it is so full of cry babies it's maddening. I know a lot of you would probably disagree, but I'd rather have lock out like coil. As it is now, barely anyone runs this as a group anyways because we can't run it as an alliance, and by the time we can 2.2 will be out. Hopefully by that time, SE will have lifted the loot lockout anyways, because I can't imagine this will be in for the long term. At least, I hope not. I'm sure many people are running it to get certain pieces, but if you are wanting to ilv80 an alt job, and you want a chest piece first, and that drops on last boss, you have to pass every other piece that may drop for your job gambling that maybe, just maybe, you will get the chest. Oh and not to mention, if you just happen to derp and forget to pass quick enough, or everyone leaves before you can click the pass button, and you get screwed with loot you don't want. I know SE didn't even think about this possibility considering the live letter, so FIX this for crying out loud. I can't stand it, and I don't understand why others feel this is a better way to do it.
Thirdly, it is painfully obvious this dungeon should have been in at release. It is a tutorial for coil. So here is what scares me about this. SE has said that CT should have been out at release, which means the new coil turns should have been out in December instead of CT. So, since they pushed back CT, but did not release any new coil turns yet, doesn't this mean they are still going to be behind come 2.2? The loot lockout on CT seems to point to SE saying it's gonna be awhile until we have new floors of CT, even though they should be releasing a new content patch in February(?) that theoretically should include new coil turns and new CT floors. We all know this won't happen, but why has SE said they are getting back on track after this update? When it appears they will not.
I love this game. I just don't get this dungeon. It was the biggest disappointment to come out of patch 2.1. It is not fun. While most everything in these types of games are disguised grinds, CT makes no bones about what it is. It is a grind if you want a certain piece, while you get to watch loot go to waste. The amount of content that was released is plenty without having to slow certain players down more (who, anyways is really being affected by this when myth cap was raised so high? Now casuals can deck themselves out in full i90 almost before 2.2 is released regardless.) I get the vanity system that will come out, and I am excited for it, but why on earth make getting items that will be mainly for looks so aggravating? I just don't get it.
This is the only dungeon I absolutely feel like I have to do just to get it out of the way. It is the one thing in this game I actually hate doing. There was so much content put into 2.1 that I don't think a lock out is even needed. All of the other dungeons were done so well it seems clear that SE did not know how to fit a raid in properly. Pushing CT out without alliance grouping has only hurt this dungeon more. So please, SE, rethink your strategy on slowing down our progression (yea, right) and lift the loot lockout, and prioritize the ability for us to at least group as an alliance. Or at least, if you are going to have a lock out, only lock out need rolls. Who cares if parties will abuse it or not, it is better than what we have now.
If this is the way it is going to be, I can tell you CT will be the red headed step child of your dungeons. The pretty gear is not enough to make me care about going through this mess again.
(Really SE? 1000 characters?)
(and I screwed up the edit, go me)
