Sastasha Speed Run?

I had a roulette group last night with a Paladin treating Tamtara like it was WP. He was pulling like 3 groups of mobs at a time. We only wiped once, but it was still annoying. I was playing DRG so I could only kill one at a time while we had a BLM that just stood in the middle and casted Blizz 2 for forever.

God I hate this! Sadly it happens a lot. I recently tanked satasha and asked the group what they wanted to do as a whole. Go a direct route or explore every room. They wanted to do everything so I got plenty exp tanking.

I had the same problem too. Instead, I was a level 50 tank but because I am new to tanking, I chose to run low level duty to get some practice in. I am a whm main. So I was tank but had this sch wanting to rush things by pulling multiple mobs. I think this is not fair, considering we had 2 new people in our group.

The gil bonus isn't even that big. 3-4k? c'mon I make that just by doing peiste (or whatever its called) treasure hunt maps. You randomly get insane gil and/or mats that can be sold for such. I got a rosegold nugget hq and chinchilla hides and 8 coke plus 3k from one of my maps. Needless to say this is now becoming a staple in my pre-raid statics

I am so very glad that you made this thread, as I had a very similar experience earlier today in Tam Tara. I am a new tank as I just recently hit 50 WAR a couple of days ago and I just completed the main quest-line today.

I hopped on my GLD to do a DR round (huzzah for CC ability leveling) and I joined a group where at least two of the four individuals were doing a DR run in Tam Tara. No more than five minutes in the DRG began blowing past me and pulling mobs. At one point the DRG ran past a fight we were engaged in and into the boss room to engage the fight…

We ended up rushing through the dungeon, as the DRG dictated the speed. As someone who has been on the other side, I can understand the frustration of new players. I just hope more people realize that just because you have the dungeon experience, and it may be slightly boring, not everyone has that experience.

How about ppl just talk in their parties if they'd rather kill every single mob or go a more straight way. Of course pulling multiple mobs at once with no AoE potential in the party is just dumb. But if you notice your tank wants to rush just ask about it, maybe he doesn't have much time, maybe he thinks going in the other rooms isn't really worth the time lose compared to exp gain or maybe he is just a douche. In the end the tank can't pull more than his healer can heal. ;-)
And don't let your parties be lead by the DDs...

I run the low lvls on my 50 war and I treat like I would any other dungeon with strangers. I run it just like I would have at the appropriate lvl. I number mobs, I pull one group at a time and there is no rushing. It may bother others who have rouletted, but tough, some people are new or unfamiliar and need to get into the habit of running a dungeon. The only thing I don't do is explain the bosses, but then I am crazy and actually find half the fun of doing a dungeon the first time is finding out what the boss does and adapting - my friends and I managed all the dungeons without reading about them first, so there is no requirement to give people a step by step guide, while many may think it is good and helpful to do, as far as I am concerned it takes away some of the wonder - especially on low lvl dungeons where if the new guy messes up it won't matter.

As for the speed running douche, if he managed to speed run the dungeon he should be more than capable of dealing with the last boss without worrying about the mechanics, so why moan about a new guy not 'doing his job' just DPS the boss and the tank can hold any adds.

Course, I guess I am also an ass because even if no one in the group is low lvl I don't speed run so I am sure it bothers people at times, sorry, speed run isn't my style, I am anally methodical.

I do DR on low and high level dungeons. The only problem I have is that I sometimes forget where the treasure chests are. If I'm in your group, just remind me. I'm not trying to rush or anything, just forgot.

Honestly, it annoys me when I see level 50 people in the low level roulette. There are much easier ways to get Phil tomes and they complain a lot of times if you're trying to kill everything for EXP. If you want a fast Phil run, do WP like normal people....
