People using this word in every party finder this week and it get my nerve. I don't know why they hate English speaker players this much.

Do you guys every fake JP and join these party? And how you do that to avoid them detect our inability to understand JP language?
Don't say so much. I got blasted by those NA server people when I made a post like this. As a ENG player in an Jap server, I understand your pains though.

Oh crap, me is too late. The blasting has gone on for 6 pages already. Save yourself and just let this thread die.

While those that play in Jap Servers will understand you, the rest will ...... (best left unsaid).

To be fair, eng groups usually = fail. They are also a lot less patient. Maybe if the eng community improved overall this opinion would change. Although there is probably some tweak of racism involved as well.

    OP... *sigh* really...?

I usually like to be able to communicate with the people I'm playing with. The auto-translate function is cumbersome and rarely allows you to express what you need or want to express in a concise and acceptable manner. I see no problem with people saying <whatever language> only. It's no fun when you can't talk to the people you're playing with, and even less fun when you're trying to explain something by using the auto-translate. I don't get what the problem you have with this is? I played FFXI for many years, and I never had a problem with it there either. If you can't communicate effectively with someone, why would you want them in your group? And really, if you think everyone who says <whatever language> only is a <whatever nationality> elitist... why would you want to play with them in the first place? If I find someone's behavior unacceptable, I tend to avoid joining their groups. Why subject yourself to the stress and frustration? Having a desire to be able to communicate with someone effectively is not, in and of itself, elitism. This isn't like back in the beginning of FFXI where all the JPs were running around mocking English players and saying things like "it doesn't matter what gear you get or how many lvls you achieve, we will always be better than you." Then when the US PS2 version came out, all the English PC people started doing the same thing to the PS2 players. And then when the 360 version came out, everyone started doing the same thing to the 360 players. Being a dick to someone new to a game isn't a thing that only the JP people do. It's kinda a humanity in general sort of thing. Luckily, everyone started this game at the same time this time around, excepting those who were around for 1.0. You seem to be bringing your prejudices from FFXI here and projecting them onto others.

Here's a simple solution: If you find all the content you want to play in party finder says <whatever language> only, and you don't speak <whatever language> start your own for English only, or whatever other language you feel most comfortable communicating in. Or for everyone that wants to join if you don't mind the communication issues that might arise. It's not a hard thing to do, only takes all of 15 seconds of initiative to set something up in Party Finder. You don't even have to talk to, or invite, the people you recruit, they join all on their own.

I've been playing in several servers and you ALL play differently from the jp people.

    - You cannot wait a second if someone has bad connection, a single red mark and you take him out! On jps teams we wait like 4, 5 min before someone start talking about dismiss.
    - BAD LANGUAGE! Jps also use bad language but not as frequently as the english speakers do. A single miss and "you dick! f*ck off", the jps keep it on their "don't mind (どんまい)" thing. And you guys LOVE to kick people out of the party.
    - Organization! you guys just do not know how to play in alliance! there's no team, no nothing! The jps play very organized, they have plans for all monsters (at the very end the jp way is no fun at all 'cause it will run identical every time, but at least we do not die).
    - EU servers, I just started a new character on Phoenix and they keep inviting me to a free company ALL THE TIME, some of their companies have more than 300 members already so what is that for?!

Its purely the awkwardness of the language barrier, the hate is not that strong.

Both in 14 and XI I talked my way into many, many, MANY jp teams. And I do not know more than just a few phrases. As long as you can show some things they will accept you I'd say 2/3 times.

    1. Be extremely polite, ask permission to do anything out of the norm
    2. Always greet well, like say "Yoroshiku" or something when you send them a tell
    3. Know what you're doing before you get in there

Word actually gets around in JP communities. If you're an non JP who is consistently getting the job done and not a pooper, you will visibly feel the effect where its like they dont look at you twice any more, you get vited in right away etc. All because a few people recognize you.

Back in FFXI I actually reached 75 in a JP static and JP ls, because I had strange hours and they were aware I wouldn't freak out or anything when playing.

It is easier to type out strats in your native language than translating them. I am on Tonberry and am apart of the minority there, I know it is frustrating that it is incredibly hard to get good groups but that's just how it is.

Korea is soon to get a translation of the game, hopefully they join the JP servers . Koreans have pretty good english.
