Well, rather than make a bunch of threads, just thought I'd submit some minor stuff that would be nice to see in game that we currently don't have...
BList right clickable search- reason being, I dunno bout others but when I first started there was a LOT of spambots that needed to be blocked. There were some <ColorfulwordforRear>hats runnin about that got greeted with a block. Typically I just shrug and unblock people who's name I don't remember, but other times a quick look at what jobs they had is enough to remind me why I blocked them (Job with Name/level range helps click things in place). That or a notepad feature with blocks would be nice ;p
While on that subject, shout limitations. This one is more or less just a cool down request. Obviously, FCs want to recruit. That's not what I am aiming for. Rather, it is the bots that spam their slightly varied message 10-20 times in a row in a single zone. It is a rarity yes, but when it pops up, it is annoying as hell.
Another nice thing would be a duty finder server tag. Sometimes it is nice finding competent people, and a quick reference of if they are from the same server really helps. Maybe not in the name itself, but when you right click on people in DF, it usually says "Another World". Maybe the server name there somewhere...?
Back in XI, when you would type /search <name>, it would bring up the person in search. Obviously, that is a bit trickier in XIV since we got a last name as well. However, why not have "/search <name>" auto filter to first name or something? Would make finding friends a bit easier...
This one is a bit nitpicky on a game mechanic... Specifically, potions. I mean stuff like STR/DEX/Etc pots. Right now, they're situational as hell, and share timers with regular potions. Is there a way we can have them split off from regular (Ether/HP pots) and change up timers a bit? 15 seconds is kinda situational to the point of pointlessness. Why not make them a minute long on a 5 minute timer? That would give it a bit more feasibility other than 2 chains and done, and if it is on a separate timer from regular pots we can see these being used a lot more.
Cut scenes are a thing that people tend to skip a lot, and I could have sworn something was being added to where we can disable them. Maybe I remember reading ideas for future (2.2) updates, or maybe I'm completely overlooking it. Can we see this get added?
This one is in reference to Coil... In Crystal tower, we seen it to where if you get a piece of loot, you cannot get another for a week, however you can keep running CT over and over. I am NOT asking for this to be done to coil in this fashion, that would be Disney evil- but instead, can we see a similar mechanic added? What I am asking for is once you clear a turn, you are locked out of loot for that turn, but you can go back and help friends who have not cleared it. It kinda sucks when a friend asks for help but you can't since you already ran coil for the day. Might help drop the demand for it being DF'able a bit if you can just simply help friends out on it you know.
Something else to request is a modification to the item rolling system as well as a feature I remember from other games. First of all, if you roll on an item and it turns out someone else needs it, you cannot change from say, Need/Greed to pass- you have to hope they beat you. This happened to me a couple times where a friend or I spoke up too late, we can't undo our roll. A simple adjustment where we could change our roll to pass would be a big help. On that note, something I seen in other games is, lets say I win said item but a friend spoke up a moment too late. Is there a way to where if they are from the same server we could get a 5 minute trade window to trade that item to a person that was in the group the moment it dropped? Best example of this would, I hate to use it as an example, but would be Aion. Let's say, an orb dropped my sorc could use but a friend beat me on it, but then found out he didn't need it. He would be capable of trading this item to anyone in the original party for up to 10 minutes before it locked to him. Obviously, this feature is ripe for abuse, so some kind of limiter would need to be added with it (once per week perhaps? Or maybe even GM requestable?) but would help patch things where someone messed up.
And finally, something that always irked me... From my understanding, Coil 5 weapons are the same iLVL as relic. The new Primal Extreme items, are the same iLVL. Supposedly, Coil is getting an i95 upgrade, but... Regardless, why are weapons you get post-relic point weaker? I can understand Primal Extremes, there is no limit to how many you can get in a week, and i90 relics you need to spend 900 myths on but Coil? Coil has a weekly lockout and already drops armor comparable to mythic tome armor. Why is the weapon at the very end (that we have) only a side-grade to what I got before entering? Shouldn't it be noticeably stronger since it requires me to pass the point when I made said weapon? Or what about at least socketable to where I can pop a couple materia (probably off the bat 50% chance success on first slot) so I can adjust it a bit so it fits me better than the relic I made a month prior to clearing the run? I don't know... Or maybe even an option where you can merge relic+1 with Primal/Coil for a stronger version of relic+2 to help keep it from getting abused if that is the concern? It's just it is disappointing to see a crazy dungeon get cleared only to get a sidegrade weapon of what you already have, even if the model looks nicer.
Oh then there are mounts... Why do they all have the same theme? I don't expect something unique for EVERYTHING, but some mounts well, the theme for them are just kinda there but not. Magitek? Obviously, you guys made a FFVI video in the past with the theme from that game playing to someone riding a magitek, why not that? The Eye mount? Somehow The Rider's Boon doesn't fit it... Behemoth and gold magitek? I don't have those ones yet, but I'm going to guess just like the Drake mount from the beastman quests, ceourl, and current magitek that they both are The Rider's Boon. Kinda makes them all so bland really. That theme kinda ruined the Eye Mount for me cause like I said, it does't fit it, and I might as well keep to the Ceourl. #CarebearProblemsYo
This one is another annoying pet peve.. Ever go to the Market Boards to buy materia, to see them all stacked by 1s when you need about 50 to get that last 8% meld? Can we just have it to where rather than booting to the previous window, it refreshes the list instead so you can keep buying?
I dunno, maybe I'll add to this list more later.
