Hi!
We are two people living in one household and want to play FF XIV together.
Until now, only one person is playing FF XIV on PC, so we bought the PS3 version.
I thought you'd only have to register the PS3 version and then you could play with your account on both systems, so you could switch to PS3 whenever you like.
But now I've read that your character is linked to your service account and your service account is linked to your PSN network account. What exactly does that mean?
So, if I have a PC account for FF XIV and we make another account on PS3, does that mean I can't play on PS3 with my account and she can't play on PC with hers?
We don't really want to be ... bound to the system. When only one of us is playing, we'd rather play on PC.
Is there a way that both accounts can be played on both systems?
What do we have to consider when registering the new PS3 account?
Thank you so much for your help! ^^
EDIT:
Now I've read that we would need 2 PC copies and 2 PS3 copies of the game to be able to switch systems whenever we like to. Is that true?
And do I have to create a new service account or can two players play from the same service account at the same time?
EDIT 2:
Uhm ... Now I've found this at the SE support site:
Windows + PlayStation 3: To play a character from each a version simultaneously
- A Square Enix account
- A copy of the Windows version
- A copy of the PlayStation 3 version
*You can register up to eight registration codes per Square Enix account.
*Please create separate service accounts for the Windows version and the PlayStation 3 version of FINAL FANTASY XIV. You will not be able to play at the same time if you register the codes under the same service account.
Windows + PlayStation 3: To play an account from each version simultaneously
- Two Square Enix accounts
- A copy of the Windows version
- A copy of the PlayStation 3 version
- A PC
- A PlayStation 3 console
I don't really get it. On one page it says I need one SE account, on the other it says I need two. This is so annoying. On every website I look everyone says something different.
It can't be that hard playing together from the same home, others do it too ...
Do I need two SQUARE ENIX ACCOUNTS or two SERVICE ACCOUNTS?
