Pug is going to feel very slow in those 30 second SP grind fights, because pugs (and all meleers) actually outstrip their stamina regen for a time and let non-battle rebuild it. With this system, there is no regain phase out of battle.

They're going to feel a lot slower unless fights last longer than 2 minutes. If you're spamming puks down, you'll be screaming that your pug is slow as molasses.

slow is only one small aspect, the mp requirement for light strike though, is HUGE 10 mp every 8 seconds is basically putting a clock on your tanking time. also sharing that resource with any self cures or MP WS, pug will essentially require stygian spikes to tank, and if flurry is mp also, well only way to get mp in a fight is siphon mp, which on sub is not a lot, and has a huge recast.

If mana is going to be the new stamina for some classes they need to add a lot more magic management options to other classes.

Hmmm...i hadn't noticed the MP cost at light strike and flurry...that's interesting indeed. Would make everything more strategic. Also, this grants us the confirmation that RDM is OTW (or some other job) with MP manager role (refresher)...because you cannot use Stygan Spikes, siphon or any other DoM spell/skill to regen MP while in a job. I wonder if all secundary basic attacks will use MP...specially heavy strike and multishot...there will be some ARCs rampaging at forum if multishot start using MP...specially because if it does its also expected a decent increase at trifurcate MP cost since trifurcate is expected to be more expensive than multishot.

The vid also broght me another question...why the heck he has both jarring strike equipped if they kept sharing recast? would this mean action combos (like BLU spells)? Would this mean enhanced effects if both are there? Because that jarring strike stun was obscenely long...when i use J2 the stun barely blink at monster's stat changes list. I tried duing this and weren't able to even reach the mob's back before it turn.

I see that, even tho i'm expecting pandemonium when 1.18 is out (+slowass AA +dungeon +new enmity algorithym +possibility +death penalty +MP adjustment of 1st job batch -party system -enmity balancing -LS managing features), the things might actually turn interesting. Dying to see the new battle mechanics' complete info.

dont think the stun lasted that long, the icon disappears, i think the goblin was a test dummy who reacts weird.

Maybe. Some others also thought the stun was "normal"...i had the feeling it was longer...but maybe its just a wrong impression of mine.

But a thing i learnned from FFXI and even from this game is that nothing is there "just because they wanted it there"...there are often a meaning behind these things. I remember when that very first artwork of the Roost popped and at very corner you had a horned girl...the beta didn't even had started and they were already teasing ppl with what later on was the horned ppl from gridania.

In FFXI they did this so often...i remember calling Dynamis Valkurm and PUP/BLU/COR AF2 like a month prior update by just "reading" those announcement banners they used. I wouldn't doubt they purposely placed those specific abilities at specific slots (you see both jarring and jarring2 are almost side by side so we can notice they both there) exactly as hints of the upcomming system.

But its like ppl say here...i'm seeking hair in eggs. =P All i said about the vid is so meaningless that even to have it becoming rumor i need to put more effort =P

No. The stun duration and how long it took for the goblin to react to it is completely normal. Go test it in the current game yourself. Put on shock spikes and go kill crabs, move behind them as soon as they are stunned wait for stun to disappear and afterwards it will take the crab at least 1 second to turn around again.

Sometimes debuff/buff icons disappear before the effect actually wears off, I assuming its server delay or something.

i could buy that except he also took forever to attack/face(57 seconds in) the lancer from the side. and the goblin can also do 3 quick attacks(1 minute in), or it can do nothing for a long time(1 10 to 1 15)

that gob was definitely behaving weird, generally unless its doing a ws/animation a monster will always face me, and it will attack fairly consistently.

Maybe Light Strike and Flurry will finally be what they were supposed to be, stances, hitting light strike would put you on a defensive buff for a period of time(hopefully not 8 seconds) and Flurry would put you in an offensive buff where pug actually attacks faster AND hits 3 times like it does now(this would also stop the whole "pug feels slow" issue) also i want victimize to get reworked its like the most used move on pugs >.<

Guys Jarring strike stuns the mob when the mob is stunned it cannot move, this is not a trick SE did or anything this is how the game has always worked. Trust me I've been breaking crab shells as solo pgl since Jan.

I'm actually really surprised at how few people know this

We all know it stuns - its the length of the stun that was/is in question.
