New Auto attack video - pug any different?

Just because a non-magical class uses MP doesn't necessarily make it a mage. MP is just another form of resource management for any class. Take Diablo II, for instance. There were many melee skills that used mana, just because that was the only form of resource management they had.

the point is, pug now needs mana for a very basic standard attack. light strike, so now the mage concerns of mp management come into play. What tools does pug have for mp management? What was once a basic skill equal in stamina cost to a regular attack now uses mp. Its the cornerstone of pug tanking skills, so now that we are melee mages, how do we get back mp? only feasible solution is stygian spikes, but that requires thaum levels, getting hit, and preculdes use of shock spikes. Doesnt make sense if pug has mp use as a part of its basic skill set unless they add mp management skills to the class.

not to mention jobs and they want to limit crossclass skills, bad look SE

which facet are you saying we should ignore because its under development?

I'm not saying you should ignore anything, just that you should keep in mind that it is under development and it doesn't even have to be like it shows in the video.

Albeit I am slighty annoyed this is a very true statement. We don't know yet. However that said I think we should make a stink about it so it doesn't stay.

im surprised more peops arent respinding, then again who knows how many check the pug thread. MP for basic skills is a huge thing, and while it is in development, they went through the trouble to make an icon with mp on it. Making pug require mp to do their tanking job seems wrong. When did pug tanking get so hax they had to add a price to it. I though gladiator was by far the most respected tank for big mobs.

I wish more people did respond to this. There are a lot of pugs out there and people should express themselves to help shape the class in even the smallest way.

I would comment more on this, but frankly there isn't much to say. I mean its a WIP auto attack that still may change from what we saw. Still reserving judgement until i'm able to actually do what we saw. I will say just based on the video everyone's auto attack looked a tad on the slow side, (although I would expect 2 handed weapon users like LNC & MRD to be slower) but its all still work in progress so we'll see. Really the only thing that bummed me about the video was after seeing the GLD and LNC new WS animations I was excited to see what PGL would be....but then had a sad panda face when it was nothing new.

They seems to be changing "signature WS" animations...so i'd expect maim and victimize to be reworked too. The prob regarding PGL vid is that the dude actually only had shown that you won't spam punches anymore...i wish PGL vid had him using pummel and/or light strike since they both were equipped so we could have a real idea of how they would work with AA.
