Demoting Inactive FC members

I'm in a FC on Coeurl sever, and my FC master hasn't logged on in over 2 months. I would like to demote him, rather than dismiss him, but that is not possible even though the settings are set so I have the same powers. Is there any way to implement this in the future so if FC leadership is inactive an extended period they lose their rank?

Probably you can request on the SE team to actually pass the leadership to others if it's proven that the concern is true? This is a common problem in other MMOs, and I have encountered that they actually do this, not sure if SE will do the same though.

The only problem I can see is that it could be used to usurp leadership if the leader went on a planned holiday and informed everyone that he was doing so.

Sometimes the best advice is just to bite the bullet and reform as a new FC.

I did put in a ticket, but I wanted to make a thread to see if others had the same problem. I really don't wanna bite the bullet since it's not a big fc (43 people including all) and with half the membership not logging on in over a month it Would diminish the work we've done. I just hope there are plans to address this. I'd be happy with some sort of messaging system to confirm. I understand the possibility of misuse but I don't know what else to do.

I don't see a reason why a function like this doesn't currently exist, or could be assisted with by a GM, being they CAN force a GM of a FC to break it due to different situations, including RMT activity or offensive names. Just keep giving it an attempt, if nothing else. Also if for any reason you decide to move on, I am on Coeurl as well, and lead <STAB!>. It's off your topic and I apologize for posting it here if it's offending to you, but you all are more than welcome to move in if you would like. Either way, once again, don't give up with the GMs. They should be able to at LEAST do something to help with the matter.

I put in a ticket for this issue just a couple days ago. Got a canned response of "unfortunately, we are unable to help in this regard and we deeply apologize for any inconvenience".

The one change that I would like to see more than any other is GMs and community reps having the ability to speak like real people and explain things, instead of copy/pasting a script.

@TrueFaith87, I'm not offended at all. My sister told me "you gotta get in where you fit in.". Plug your FC all you want. My feelings aren't hurt.

@SixtyOneSix, I sure hope SE's position changes. I'm still waiting for any response so far.

I can see a problem with the slippery slope, but it's not like they can pull up subscription records. If someone isn't subscribed, they obviously aren't playing the game at present.

I don't think a couple of months would be long enough to demote an inactive FC Master, several months would be more realistic for a company such as SE who likes to play it safe.

I know they say it's not possible at the moment, but apparently it is coming in the future and by then you might be first in line to request a shift of FC leadership.

How long should several months be? I'm not being antagonizing, but considering the master hasn't logged on in over 2 months I would like to think that is sufficient. I presume that said person has not subscribed to the game at this point. If it's just a hiatus then I'm good. However if they've decided they no longer want to play this game then that is a different matter.

To be honest, I wouldn't care except that I'm not sure how FC housing works yet. If the master is needed to authorize or purchase things then this could be a problem, since several members have said they want to partake in that. For the time being we aren't able to get a housing plot since we are under leveled and under funded. If in 1-2 months this changes and the master hasn't returned, my problem will display itself.

Anyways, the GM finally emailed me saying they couldn't do anything since it's "out of their scope" to handle.
