    I don't think there's anything in these changes that would actually *encourage* a ranged attacker to close distance.
    Auto attack provides free TP to the attacker, as an archer Id take whatever I could soak up. So they are encouraging it for anyone that wants extra TP.

    Actually, it's reassuring. Ranged attackers are getting consistent treatment.
    I imagine they tried it your way first, and discovered, while testing the system, that it is very broken, so came up with melee autoattack as a fix.

    Who's to say that Archer attacks won't generate TP also. Mages casting spells too.

    I say for those talking about archers, and mages AA and stuff just wait till it's released. It's Matsui who's working on the battle, he made FFXI better, he knows what players wants, I'm sure he will get it right so most of us will be happy with the results. (can't say eveyrone, since someone always has to bit**)

    All I see so far is a copy and paste from XI. They should be improving on ARC not having auto attack in XI, not copy and pasting. But like I said earlier, make auto attack toggleable, for everyone. Problem solved. Have a global setting in configuration so you can set your default and then another option if you wish to change it for a specific mob. That gets rid of all inconveniences and keeps everyone happy.

    Yep adding a toggle for AA is one way to do it, click on icon once for archer, mage jobs once turns on AA click again turns off. We'll see...

    It's expect that ARC users want their GARRR.

    the thought of making arc "just another melee class" must be terrifying.

    It is getting copy and pasted from FF11, which is not the best, but not the worse. Better to have something that works and hope for it to get better then having something that doesn't work.

    The reason you just stated is ridiculous. We should stay out of range of a mob, hence being ranged DPS. If a mobs in our face we are pulling too much enmity and should let a tank to take it or bind and run.
    Also Ms. Taka archer with AA doesnt change much if you stay back its the same as it was.
