Now this will be interesting to seeChecked with the dev. team regarding questions about archers and their ability to auto-attack. Auto-attack as a system will initiate when the player is fighting an enemy in close range. While archers will be able to auto-attack enemies while in close range it won't be with arrows. New animations will be implemented to make this all happen!![]()
So its unreasonable to expect them to continue to give us content that is aimed at the players that purchased the game instead of making content thats aimed at players that havent even purchased the game yet? A company the size of SE should be able to do both I would think. I am not expecting a full expansion already or anything, but the "content" they have given us so far isn't aimed at the existing player base. You have your mind made up and I totally understand your willingness to wait, but I find the way they are going about things to be a disservice to those of us that have stayed with them consistantly for this long.
And no offense Monkey, but with the game in the state its in, you having multiple jobs at 50, and post on here daily, your in the fanboy camp whether you want to be or not.
Yes. It is unnreasonable. SE's goal is a mmo product that is worthy of public attention in multiple countries, not a "love letter" to the fans.
your second option fufills the first(a mmo appealing to many audiences but not fans will get new players to buy it, creating fans), you first option does not fufill the second(a mmo appealing to ff fans, but not appealing to the public, will fail).
We don't need a reward for playing this game until all the fixes are in and they are ready for subs.
If the PS3 release becomes a success, that'll be its own reward.
But it can't be a success by wish lists and apologies alone.
It's far better to give feedback on stuff when it's still in development than have to push for change after it has been added. After all that's what this contact with the developers is about.

I understand on giving feedback. But, the battle system change will encompass all battle classes to make fighting more rewarding, challenging and tactical, that has been said by Matsui and Yoshida alike, so, why you think you might get stuck on 1111 22223333 spamming then? Clearly something is planned for all classes, Mages alike. We dont have enough info to even give feedback, the patch will be introduced in july. The game is still in testing mode, so theres plenty of time for feedback.
Speaking as a PUG, if they get kick attacks and I don't, I will be quite upset. T_TChecked with the dev. team regarding questions about archers and their ability to auto-attack. You clearly just skipped to the end of the thread and missed the developer post which stated ARC will be able to auto attack up close but not with a bow. So if I want to attack with my bow (I'm an archer after all) I'll be stuck with manual attacking.I understand on giving feedback. This current system of weapon = class is already starting to be a problem. I wonder if we're moving to multi-weapon class future. I kinda hope so.
I'd have to guess the only reason they won't have a ranged auto attack is to avoid "accidentally" wasting arrows.
I vote we make ammunition just single equip items and infinite. You have your different arrows with different effects that can be equipped as if it was just another piece of equipment.
Crafts to make arrows would be changed from making crap-tons of arrows to just one single equipable arrow.
Infinite ammo systems tend to be easier to balance anyways. Since ammo costs only apply to specific classes.
Yes I do have a My Little Pony sig because I'm not a complete loser who lives in his own little world, proclaiming something is stupid because I say so.
Oh, it's another one of those "I can't imagine anything different from XIV's current state" types.
You do ranged attacks with your bow for the bulk of your main damage but have the option of running up and doing minor damage auto-attacking with a dagger/one-handed axe in case you run out of ammo or want to finish off a mob without wasting an arrow. Is that so difficult to understand? It isn't broken, but it's much better to have ranged weapons in a seperate slot than simply being bound to your bow and forced to throw rocks as an alternative.
It's frustrating to see posts like yours (and I see them often). Stop and think for a moment. You seriously think I'm suggesting that Archers shouldn't spend most of their time dealing ranged damage? Quit acting like you speak for everyone too.
Was just thinking what about haveing the arrow's as the close range auto attack as a stabbing action,
would also get ya to buy updated arrow's so you do more damage with the dmg base of the arrow getting higher the better 1 you equip just like upgrade wepon. But you dont lose ya arrow maybe soak it in rapter blood lol ?

It's a bit late for that now, they are probably well into the testing phase by now and the actual developers have moved on to other things unless they need to fix bugs and potential exploits.
