learn your rotations... google is your best friend. watch videos of people tanking to see strats on certain bosses.
learn your rotations and join as many dungeons as you can be4 u hit lv50
instead of fate zerging this will make u learn from your mistakes and be great tank
many ppl using tanks just because they dont have DF wait time & thats wrong tank need to be skilled too
Check out the Tank Role forums for some good threads or start your own.
Here's a recent thread from a new tank asking for help that contains some very useful info, and was only derailed for a couple of pages:

just do a few dungeon runs and u'll get it. its the easiest class to play. but generally what u wanna do is keep the mobs/boss facing the opposite direction. watch the mob list for aggro fluctuations, and spread out ur buff rotations for the hard hitting stuff.
easiest what?
aggro control is not easy thing with bad DPS and healers around u
try tank T4 and tell me was it easy as you say?
I've played all roles in MMO's I wouldn't consider any of them hard or difficult, but some are more fun then others.
On topic though I would start by reading a well written guide, and ask advice from someone you know you consider a good tank.
flash a lot.
early dungeos before you get shield oath as a paladin its best to start with shield lob then flash when the others are around you then do a combo and flash, if everyone is attack the same mob as the one you are comboing then no one should get hate, though there are a few exceptions, once 40 you will need it active at all times and use this rotation, Fight or Flight>Shield lob>flashx2>rage combo>flash>switch mobs Repeat at rage combo then flash til you get 2 mobs left then rotate the mobs and use rage combo. For bosses just shield lob and use combos unless you need to grab adds then flash them. Pay attention to dungeon mechanics and use proper judgement when fighting trash and bosses.
As for buffs, I really dont ue them on trash mobs but wait til I get ti a boss, use one buff til it wears off, I like to use rampart then foresight then sentinal then save convolecence and hallowed ground for emergencies if the healer cannot keep up.
