character info is not being saved

Time: Since around the 26 of december
Frequency: always
World name: Moogle
Character name: Helena Myre
NPC name: NA
Monster name: NA
Class/Level: WHM/BRD/LNC(...any job really....)
In-game time: always
Area and coordinates: anywhere
Steps:
1. I edit the hotbar or change the equipment
2.Log off, leave the game
3. Come back none of the edits are there.
4. Tried creating a new gear set for the WHM, logged off
5. Logged in, the recently created gear set was not there

- broadband/ice
- Modem maker/model number TENDA/D840R

Any edits I do to the hotbar or equipment are not being saved , every time I log off when I come back I have yo change things again...this is a pain because I no longer have the previous weapon so I have To equip everything all over again...

I've tried doing another gear set and still when I log in it's gone

This looks like a corrupted game save file on PS3 - try to copy it out to USB then remove it from PS3 (only the one for the particular character you have issues with) and try again.

I'll do this as soon as I arrive home, but am not sure if that will help since I'll be using the same corrupted file then?

Also I know of 2 other persons with this issue (one in a ps3 and another in a PC-The pc post is on the forum as well)...so perhaps there's something in the game corrupting the files?

And since am a wuss I am also afraid of losing all my info if something goes wrong...I think I would rather play glitched than having to start from scratch :P

All your character progress, items, gil, achievments and gear are kept server side - the local game save file holds only your gear sets, crossbar settings and macros so worst case scenario you'd need to spend about 20 -30 minutes to re-set those but it should be worth it the comfort of having the saving working again. Also - as I've adviced above - if you copy out the game save file to USB prior removing / deleting it from PS3 you can always copy it back again so nothing will be lost. I'm on the same server BTW and will be online in about 2 hours so you can give me a shout in game if you still need some help (with this or anything else indeed) or just to let me know that you've managed to fix it

You were right the file was so corrupted I couldn't even copy it to the USB drive, but I created 2 gears logged off and came back in and they were there as well as my new hotbars...

Glad to be able to help - the best practise is to get into habit of backing up your game saves at least once a week or after some major changes done to your configuration, either to USB or if you have PSN+ also to cloud (you can have that done automatically as well).
