Pre-dungeon 'How to play your class' guides

Any chance of seeing this in a future patch?

I'm leveling my White Mage and probably 1/3 players I see in these groups have no idea how to play their classes. Like, not even the slightest. It's really depressing.

I have seen no less the four Black Mage who just cast random spells. This includes spamming Blizzard 75% of the time, spamming Fire III, never cast Thunder, Fire II on single targets, alternating between Fire and Blizzard, etc.
Other examples include a Gladiator who spammed Riot Blade on one monster (no Flash, no attempting to pick things up), and a Bard who did an entire dungeon with Mage's Ballad up, while nobody other than me used MP.

I've given up trying to give them tips on how to play their classes correctly. The response is usually 'You aren't paying my sub, I can play how I want,' which is another problem all together.

Guildhests technically are supposed to be training for how to play your class role in a dungeon, but having said that, just like stupid people who pass their driver's license exam and yet drive terribly, the developers could have all the tutorial dungeons/content in the world and there will still be stupid players who refuse to learn from their mistakes and think everyone else is the one with the problem. All you can do is grit your teeth sadly.

Right. Guildhests, THE best way to learn your class and SE's intended mechanics.
As long as you are able/willing to read.

    Really, guildhests?
Where a healer can sit in cleric stance all the way through, dps can aggro loads of mobs away from the tank without dieing, no one ever gets a limitbreak and 90% of them are 'kill those bad guys 1 group at a time'
That blm who spams random spells probably learnt to do that from guildhests

    Yep, really!
When my child learns to cycle it'll get these little extra wheels, just like SE did here with hests.
Later on hests will get some poeple to think about their strats, believe me.

    Aren't we all children?

The best you can do is offer advice to these people and if they bitch just say that they can follow your advice or not, that it doesn't really matter to you. I actually find this works well as it kinda bypasses the "how dare you tell me what to do" attitude. I have recently been dungeon rating low level dungeons and have talked the ear off of many a tank (as they are generally the worst at low levels), and generally get good responses.

There will always be the odd player who will either not follow a mob route or the ability to manage hate. I've had instances where i have marked mobs in numerical order in halitali because they couldn't follow a tank and they still attacked the wrong mob!

IO then had the usual "OMG tank can't hold aggro lulz"

    fricking nubcakes.

You know how <insert random THM> learned how to play when you end up in Tamtara with them and they do nothing but spam Blizzard 2. -.-

This is getting silly. I don't even know what to say at this point; the DRG in my Stone Vigil group was standing at max range, throwing spears at the boss.
I left after the boss and got a 30 minute lockout, because we couldn't kick the DRG due to it being queued with the tank.

I don't think it's ever gonna be fixed.

Similar suggestions were brought up early in beta, but the official response were "No plan to implement". There were also related responses that point to guild hests and class-specific quests as guidance---we all know how well they teach you a class.

Devs probably want learning to be a "community experience". Sadly the content is easy enough that most times you can get to 50 without learning anything, and at 50 start blaming others for being elitist and so on. According to devs, you only need to start doing the right things at 50, everything before that is learning content.
