No need for such ignorance here, it's hard to keep reading. The OP did not pay to be carried. He paid for competent people, like himself, to assist him in completing. He did the fight numerous times, was geared for it, and knew his role. All of this, wich he stated.

This I can agree with. I came close to buying wins because I was getting annoyed with people not dodging plumes and getting hit with landslides. Always stuck to players on my server to do Titan parties with and after about 2 weeks worth of wipes I got my first win then I started getting more wins than wipes. Plus I didn't wanna buy any runs because I had intentions of starting a small FC and buying a house, boy was I wrong

Who cares if it is assistance or a carry? The point of a social MMO is that you can do things like sell your services to other players... carry your friends through fights together... do whatever you want to do with a group of folks.

I must admit I don't understand so much disdain for people mercing Titan. On other games I've played this sort of thing was common place and just seen as a means to an end.

I know the titan frustration for sure, whats worse party finder groups never want two tanks (though most seem to need that back up in case a healer slips) as myself and my husband both are working on our tank class relic. This is our second relic and I remember the fight to get people together for our first ones. I'd never buy a run but I'm in a LS that helps in runs and content and my FC I am in is working on getting more plus 1 weapons in the company to help the lower levels once they get to titan.

I don't think the OP was carried, as I wasn't carried when I finally agreed to let the LS group take me in there on my DRG. I avoided everything I could without any information on the fight or instruction on what to do. I admit I died at about the final 5 % of the bosses hp but my computer had a minor hiccup that caused me to force a restart of the game. -__-;

All the DF groups I've been in recently (or party finder) the healers seem to slack or call the tanks bad if mountain buster kills them because they were not healed properly... or even if you get past the heart phase it seems then 3 of the 4 DD derp and die for whatever reason (and keep doing so after 20 wipes plus). Even explaining the fight seems to have no effect on how some play :< granted i do know some people lag and that isn't their fault (yes yes upgrade pc whatever but some can't afford that).

Buying a Titan win means you will be holding back your party when you decide to do Coils and extreme primals. If you can't get a Titan way the legit way, then you won't survive the more difficult content. Form your own party through party finder if it's that hard for you and ask for high ilvl experienced players.

No it doesn't, that's just an assumption you're making. In the OP's case he clearly put in a lot of effort and learned the fight.

Are you stupid or blind? Why don't you people read the post before commenting on it? He clearly said he knows the fight and he has not been able to beat titan because of OTHER people. OTHER people mean those people who are not you. Come back when you have soloed titan.

So, I went back to df titan for some pure unadulterated revenge. It was a blast. Here's what happened.

First of all, I have spent the past few days pugin titan (a lot) and have concluded that this was gil very well spent. Here's why.

example 1

We got titan down to apprx. 10%....twice...with 4-5 people. Beat the heart short 1 dps too. It was a fantastic group. However, still failed like all the rest (df group)

We didn't beat the heart and wiped. BUT I realized the gaol burned super quick, so I encouraged us to try again. We got him down to not even 10% and died. Third try 2nd healer froze, so ya wipe. (another df)

example 3

Was in one of my linkshell groups and wiped at the heart shy 2 dps. We tried again, and I didn't pop another cd for mountain buster and ate rock. I was shy on hp, but I could've popped homlgang, I know this. (ls group)

So moral of the story is this. I have zero regrets. I love the fact I can go in there for lulz and rub his fat face with my (albeit expensive) relic. When I went with the pay group, I was the off tank. I didn’t go down once and ate maybe one plume and zero bombs. I was invited to their titan merc linkshell because of this. Maybe I’ll make my money back lol.

I know this fight like the back of my hand now, which made the past few days of pure payback even more satisfying. I appreciate this fight in many MANY ways now. If three people make one mistake, you can almost say it’s three strikes and you’re out lol. It’s unforgiving…..and I love the music.

However the fact remains that if I didn’t pay I’d be a relicless df dropout…I’m totally fine with that
