I had brought this up in a previous thread, because I am not convinced about the true origin of the coeurl kitten minion (what I mean is, I think the minion designer wanted to give us a kitten, and they just made it a coeurl without considering the already present connections and lore in the world. Perhaps this minion could be explained as a subspecies.). Because the coeurl pups - the "young" of coeurl - do not have spots. Instantly, I compare this to dalmatian pups. So then, why is it that our coeurl kitten minions have spots already?
That being said, if we are to give coeurl young a name, we are presented with coeurl kitten in the lore already, too (which is also in conflict to what lore is presented in game).
Coeurls are intended to be of the "cat" family, I believe, if you consider the name of the first encounter with one of their species in Satasha - the Cattery.Names of Coeurls through various stages of development
This has bothered me a little while, especially with the new minion and treasure chest hunts.
We have a new "Coeurl Kitten" minion. The quest to acquire it goes to great lengths to specifically state that it is a real baby coeurl we obtain. The coeurl character model is used in the quest as an NPC. Awesome.
But prior to patch, and also included in the treasure hunts if you get coeurl family of monsters attacking, is the coeurl pup. (The three monsters you get in the coeurl family from a treasure chest is a territorial coeurl pup - as large as a normal coeurl, has no spots, territorial young coeurl - has spots, and a territorial coeurl - the last being a torama/white model).
So, why is it that the small, tiny minion we get, Coeurl Kitten, called a kitten? Why does it have spots? Does it suddenly go through a metamorphoses when it gets its whiskers, lose its spots and become an entirely different colour?
