Housing Ideas and Feature Requests

Just an idea i've had devs have said Ishgard may have housing, but it is not confirmed yet. My idea is because ishgard is mostly empty due to the fighting and isolation and everything there is a lot of empty city in that floating fortress but no physical land space. I suggest a solution to our personal housing issues and land space, instead of a physical mapped house location why not set up personal apartment space in Ishgard.

Let us use currency, gil or other means to rent apartment space we can customize like our fc room but on a larger scale. Similar to the mog house in FFXI's aht urgahn let players prepay months weeks years in advance if they please and reserve their own customizable studio apartment. To leave it open for all make it separate from our existing FC and personal housing those are just club houses anyway. I suggest a 6 tiered size scale with different rent amounts based on a players ability to pay and size/space. The smallest being 1 and 1/2 times the size of an FC room with 75 slots, the second including an outdoor balcony area and 100 slots, third being 2x the size of an FC room and supporting 100 slots, fourth 2 and 1/2 times and 125 slots, and so forth the largest being 3x fc room size and including a large outdoor balcony supporting 250 slots. This would allow the cunning crafter to create rooms, lounge space, ect then invite his friends to marvel at it. In all fairness regular housing needs more furnishing slots anyway. I'm not suggesting a small house i'm suggesting a larger space we can mold into our own comfortable refuge since we are no longer at home in the 3 nations. Oh and SE for the record affordable = 100k a month for the middle tier house not 1 million a month don't be stupid.

I feel players would support this for the ability to customize their own house, and the only drawback to it not having access to gardens is fixed by allowing apartments with balcony area's to support small and or large personal garden spaces. To make it unique I suggest making the apartment a refuge that players may earn rested xp while logged out inside. Want to invite friends to look but dont' want everyone accessing your space? Make it so only members of a party may enter the party leader's personal apartment space when he/she is there and when the room is unlocked. Afterall i'm sure as isolated as Ishgard is next to no thought has been made to hospitality, so an Inn room may be hard to come by. Something like this I feel would boost the crafting market for furniture and put a choke on RMT who profit from impatient players scrambling for limited resources and willing to spend real money. Like I said earlier the physical houses are club houses they're designed to be gathering places they showcase a Free Companies wealth and achievements in game, soon they will be crucibles for the creativity of a Free company as well. I feel they should continue to be that and stop being playthings for the rich and stupid. Something cheap and affordable with access to some outdoor features and open for the average player to be creative is the future of housing in this game and should have been part of it from the start.

In regards to physical location there is no way to get to your apartment by map instead set up a portal room with housing vendors nearby that ports you to your apartment somewhere in Ishgard, nobody knows where. It could be in a tower as is logical for smaller rooms or it could be a couple stories above the street also logical for larger rooms.
