I was actually thinking about this after having shortened the bathroom space in my cottage's basement from a 2x3 area (using the grid of the masonwork flooring) to be 2x2 & use that spare 1x2 to make some servants' quarters - I'm thinking that our characters' bodies are so evolved that, unlike all the other plebes in the game, we digest 100% of everything we eat and thus have no waste material.
(By the way, if you place the retainer's bell close enough to a door partition & use it, the door actually opens up as if the retainer is coming through the door)
- More housing items in Mansion should be 300 not 200 they are too empty and about 5X the size of a small house that has 100 slots so doesn't make common sense.
- More yard slots not everyone uses large items
- Dye-able wall paper and rugs/Stain-able wood walls and floors
- More partitions to match all ore most wall types and a door partition that is usable and not ugly
- More pictures or wall hangings that are not huge portraits or teeny tiny cityscapes. larger landscapes of heavens ward or still lifes would be nice
- at least 2 dinning room tables the size of the royal plotting table, give us some variety please without making us link 4+ smaller tables to make something different
- make all basic tables, chairs, couches and shelves dye-able
- make the lighting changeable per primary level not entire house

9. This is a big one: Delayed Binding of housing elements. As it stands right now the immediate binding of an item upon use is a big problem. Oftentimes, if not EVERY time, it's rather difficult to get a real idea of what an element is going to look like until it's placed. Immediate binding is an unnecessary mechanic and only serves to create inventory bloat. Give us some time, maybe 24 hours of real-world play time, to mess with area/room design before an item binds. If you want to limit this feature to non-star items to preserve rarity of the more challenging items, go for it. If that Glade Chair I just made doesn't work in my space I'd like to be able to give it to a friend or FC mate.
- A note you can put bound items in your FC chest and other players can get to it.
- but not having items auto bind on placement would be nice. even it i you could place it but not leave the housing option.
Obligatory :
- copy rift to allow for player design, creativity and 100% unique creations would add a much much needed depth to housing.
- need to be allowed to manipulate all furniture completely, bury it, suspend it, recolor it, RESCALE it etc
- need instanced housing
- need to double all item limits for all house sizes
- give access to all in game textures rock, snow, grass, water etc to allow customization of yards 100%
- lighting adjustments/floor not at set amount by game ...but a slider scale to adjust from any # between 0-100
- remove the slap on the hand punishment of furniture destruction when removed..just ridiculous
- remove limit of "1 item/plot" on any furniture that is just for visual pleasure (not gardens for example)
- add in many visual effects we can add to any outdoor or indoor item: items: ie/ glow effects, spotlight effects , sparkle effect ...etc
its endless ..many older games have surpassed ffxiv 5 fold, in fun and player creativity...would be nice for ffxiv to at least match those asap.

♥ MORE HIGH HEELS + INSTANCED HOUSING! ♥!
I really wish they'd make personal and FC houses one per account (one of each tops to clarify). That would go a long way towards helping matters alongside the idle house timer.
May have been mentioned, but almost 50 pages would be a bit to dig through, and I posted it in another thread. BUT, what would be nice is being able to buy or craft "musical" type furniture such as a record player or jukebox in order to change what background music plays in your house. Even if it's already recorded stuff that's in the game, it'd be nice to switch it up a bit, and it'd be another area to explore in future updates.![]()
You only had to go one page back:May have been mentioned, but almost 50 pages would be a bit to dig through, and I posted it in another thread. That is already coming, Yoshi and Soken have stated it's actually going to be a furnishing item originally from FFXI called an 'orchestrion' and it probably coming sometime after 3.2 or thereabouts. I posted the most recent info on the subject that I'm aware of in another thread which covers this in more detail. Either way, it's already planned.
On that topic, when the Orchestrion is added, please, please SE, please allow us to select tunes from the entire version 1.0 OST including the currently 'missing' tunes like Navigator's Glory and Piece of Mind, as they're some of my favourite FFXIV tracks and I miss hearing them in the game.
Really looking forward to that jukebox for a long time now. I feel like they will implement millions of different disk grades just to annoy our inventory space again.
Turning the plot grass into a snowfield would have been great for this event.
They should also let us buy old furniture from the calamity salvager if you have the event title.
Also, I hope they will implement an outside pool someday
I wouldn't mind having to collect tracts like random drops from raids, or gifts from special events that might be fun. Just so long as it's an item that is removed from your inventory but accessible forever after that, such the way chocobo barding or TT cards are made.
