Housing Ideas and Feature Requests

This is a wonderful thread, everyone here some awesome ideas and I hope SE is very much alert to its contents!

That said, I add my point every so often so its not too buried.

PLEASE COPY RIFT SE

They have one of the best designs for housing with dimensions,by far the most customization and especially creative thinking. With ffxiv superior graphics , housing could be outstanding with Rifts core design.

I would love to have 100% freedom to actually create something unique from nothing and the ability to add/control/manipulate and create anything I can imagine!!

Please rethink housing..it could be soooooo much more engaging and satisfying

Quoted for emphasis. The UI for Housing right now is incredibly bad. I'm fighting just to highlight objects to move it or rotate it. And I'm constrained by the small spaces of a small house.

I know you love WoW SE... but please, please play Rift and copy what they have done. It is the definition of flawless housing

wow... so i finally got to sit down and check out some vids and pics of rift's housing...

Most of it is impossible because of the very nature of our housing but holy sheet! the amount of customization is ridiculous. You can literally build anything like in minecraft, the tree houses and gardens are so amaze. At the very least SE should sit down and brain storm some ideas from this stuff.

Window Curtains. (I really like these old style curtains, makes it feel like castle window curtains)

1. The ability to share your home and house functions (aetheryte, garden, house decoration etc) with eternal bonded spouse or friend.
2. The ability to turn off the lights to your home
3. The ability to dye interior walls
4. Partitions should be able to look like interior walls
5. The ability to log off inside your home
6. A juke box that allows you to add music to your home
7. Addition of doors that can open and shut
8. Addition of curtains, blinds and drapes

Just wanted to point out that your #6 has been long promised by the devs (and will likely make it in sooner or later) and your #7 is already in game (there's a sliding Asian style wall that opens when you approach and closes after you step away) although I don't know what it's called.

Yeah I know they added a sliding door. But I'm talking about more variety of them. Like opening and shutting doors with glade, rivera and oasis thems etc.
