While this is certainly helpful and good news to gear Camate, what would really help the Fishermen/women of Eorzea is a tackle box that can store some number of bait so that our inventory doesn't suffer so much! >_<I have word that the development team is looking into a new type of NPC you can add to your homes, but they may end up making your house reek of fish…
In the event that this potentially smelly NPC is added to the array of NPCs that can be placed in your houses, we will also add a similar NPC to open field areas as well for players who do not possess a house.
Short and sweet
Because we now have personal housing I would love to decorate it for the Christmas event
• Decorate outside of our homes with Christmas lights of some sort
• Snow falling in the housing areas for the event (would be cool)
• Christmas trees for the inside of our homes.
Actually, one thing I really enjoyed about the FFXI seasonal events is that we got some really cool City themed furnishings... think to the "xmas" trees or snowmen! Or the Halloween lanterns~
While we did see some furnishings with the Summerfest event, I'm really hoping that more seasonal furnishings are added and that they all have some regional difference if possible!
Thank god.
Now if only all the vendors in houses could be combined to one guy doing the selling and mending.
The way it is now forces us to dedicate 70% of the floorspace to private vendors leaving little room for creativity. I would be 100% if this merging of vendor skills cost tons of gil as long as it's a possibility.
While this is awesome (there REALLY needs to be a central bait salesperson of SOME kind, since it's irritating having to look up what bait is sold where all the time), it still doesn't address the central gripe of Fishers: Fishing should be a spontaneous thing. If you're in an area, and you suddenly get the urge to fish, you want to be able to change jobs and get to it.
As it is, the huge variety of bait (with more likely being added with the level cap!) means that it is simply not feasible to carry all the bait you need to address any situation. It takes up too much of your inventory. "Man, I'm getting bored waiting for Bagoli to pop for my daily hunt marks... Ah, I know, let's try to catch some Big Fish! ...crap, I don't have any Stem Borers or Honey Worms on me. Now I gotta teleport home and buy some, and sell the leftovers when I'm done. What a stupid waste of gil!"
No other class needs to teleport around to obtain the equipment they need to do their job. Main-hand tool and equipment all have their own handy inventory-independant Armory pages. Fisher should have a page for bait, as well (actually, several pages given how much bait there is!).
+1 for christmas decorations... AT LEAST some lights please!Short and sweet

"Try not. Do or do not. There is no try."
It does stink that the cottage size homes only get 2 NPC's where as the House and Mansion size ones get to have 3. :\I live in a small house so can we please get the number of NPC's increased from 2 to 3 or 4. At least 3 please. Limiting the house to 2 is crazy rough to decide because all of the npcs are good to have around. I gave up on the mender one and settled for the other 2. Please don't make me choose again. I need the 2 I got plus this one. Please.
Why add ANOTHER NPC to our house that just stands there and sells something the Junkmonger or Material Vendor could sell? Honestly, I want to be able to place my Retainers in my house even if they are just glorified mannequins. (How about a challenging questline to unlock the ability to have our retainers in our homes?) We don't need more "specialized NPC vendors" give us more interesting things to place in our homes. And please do not limit them based on size. At this point there is zero reason to have more limitations on our homes based on their size. Now with personal housing a real thing. And for Gods sake please do something so we can "pose" the NPCs we do have? XI allowed us to pose our mannequins and it was awesome. Having my Vendors stand rigidly in my house all day is disturbing.
I'd rather be in Zitah
More job/class themed furniture. The stuffed fish, marlin and jaw looks great and the same for new food items, but how about a waterholl map and rack of fishing rods, kitchen area with cooking equipment, piles of ore and pickaxes, alchemist bottles and ingrediences. I know each crafting class has a themed furniture with bonuses, but something smaller, less expensive to make with no bonus. Let us make room that show here lives a fisherman, alchemist of blacksmith
Taken from FFXI:
Aquariums, butterfly cages, buckler plaque(crossed sword with buckler in front, wallhanging), cleaning tool set, my old Time Piece that plays music, display blades, mannequins, miniature airship. FFXI has a lot of great furnitures that should be in FFXIV.
More far eastern items, I want my room to look and feel like the Ninja dojo complete with the custom music
