I’m stopping in again to bring you some more information about plans for housing that are in the works!

As mentioned briefly during Letter from the Producer LIVE, in patch 2.2 we will be adding a cultivation system, which will allow you to cultivate crops from your house’s garden and use them for things such as cooking.

Additionally, though this is something for the future, we are currently looking into making it so you can dye furnishings that cannot presently be dyed.

1) Snap-to-Object
2) Show Gridlines
3) Snap-to-Half Grid
4) "Flip" Object (as like flipping in a mirror, especially good for L-shaped items)
5) Wall-Objects placable on Partitions
6) Show Rotation Angle (e.g. 30deg., 60deg., & so forth)
7) Option to Move/Remove Side-Wall Supports
8) Better Centering on Side-Wall decorum

Thanks for this news! It's pretty exciting.

Though, I wonder if I am able to get a hint or two more out of you... :3

Would these crops be a special sort of crop that we can't gather in the overworld? Something such as an Eorzean equivalent to a banana or peaches or kale to be used in new recipes?

How about an all Server Message when an FC buys/builds a house? We really need something to bring people's attention to housing in general and with prices the way they are a server message would not be spammy. House purchases on Gilgamesh have been in the range of 2-3 a week at the highest.

I am not sure about the "board outside so people can write comments on the house" but a little more information on the house on the placard would be nice. At the very least please add "Established: <Date>" on the placard.

There's is not a lot of room in the "yard" to cultivate much in a FC house. Hopefully your talking about personal housing and we actually have a yard/lawn.

Doubtful since personal housing isn't coming for a while yet?!

Would there a feature that can upgrade the current size and type of housing? For eg. from small plot of land to medium/large plot of land.

My suggestion:
1) Permit for demolition
2) Transfer/Enlarge plot of land
3) Permit for re-construction

The reason i am suggesting this feature is to enable FCs to purchase the land at their affordability first and in future, the land can be upgraded at any point of time if the financial resources are adequate.

I believe this would be the comment to which Rex is referring.

Also, as you may know, there is currently no system in place to allow you to upgrade your land plot, which means it wouldn't be possible to carry over your furnishings were you able to upgrade from a small plot to a medium one. However! We are looking into implementing a moving feature, which will allow you to bring everything to your new home.

We are still in the planning phase of this system, but once there are developments we will be sure to let you know.
